Before this game, it would be easy, Bud to sit on the pine and Twill to come off the bench at the SF spot.

But now that Bud has broken out of his slump, if he continues to play well tommorrow night, what happens to the rotation?

I have no doubt that this trade was made to shore up the SF spot because of Bud's struggles this season, but what if Bud continues to play well?

Same as before until Williams proves himself worthy.

I'm thinking Williams to take over Battier's spot a few games after the all-star break.

Agreed. There's no reason to assume Williams gets in the rotation immediately. Its not like he's a veteran who Adelman can trust to run the plays correctly. He'll have to prove himself first in practice. I expect many fans will be disappointed, and many threads will be created complaining about this.

They will treat Williams like a rookie. He will take time, but he will pay off...

I like this trade, but it only makes sense if there is another trade coming up. Hopefully it will be a big trade instead of a trade to get under the luxury tax.

Well it's going to be some nice healthy competition.

I think all three will be getting plenty of playing time coming off the bench. This team just got deeper.

Lowry / Brooks / Lee (on defensive assignment) / Smith
    Martin / Lee / Williams / Budinger / Brooks
    Battier / Williams / Budinger
    Scola / Hill / Hayes / Jeffries / Patterson
    Yao / Miller / Hayes / Jeffries

This proves that Adelman has soooo many chips to use. Geesh the depth at each position is amazing.

But so much of it still has to do with potential. Lee, Williams, Budinger, Hill, Patterson all have to prove themselves over the course of a season. And to a different extent Yao needs to prove himself all over again.

But Morey put this team together with the chips he was dealt. Nice jog Morey

The big red flag for me is his turnover rate, he is averaging 4.4 per 36 minutes for a SF, that is really atrocious, the highest rate on the rockets is 2.9 by the 3 PGs.

I doubt Williams rides the bench for too long.. he brings a lot more to the table than Budinger does. It's only a matter of time..

Well here's the thing, there's no way Adelman will put both Lowry and Williams on the floor together when neither one can shoot jumpshots. And Lowry is the better jumpshooter of the two.

    Brooks/Lowry
    Martin/Lee
    Battier/Budinger or Williams
    Scola/Hill
    Hayes/Miller

    Fixed

I don't understand why everyone always leave Hayes out. This guy is undersized but he is solid. I much rather have Chuck Hayes return to the starting line up again playing the center. As good as Hayes was last season, he improved more this season.
