Gotta go with Nix. But that's subject to change.

Yeah Crick shouldn't be on this list. He is in the top 10 in the team in tackles and has had a few solid games. He is no Pro Bowler but he is not a candidate for this list. Per ESPN he is statistically projected to finish at 59 tackles and 4 sacks with some TFLs and a few PDs, not too shabby. Don't forget there are 7 games left in the season.

I would personally nominate Clowney, Manning, Posey, Martin or any TE. This list will be better to discuss later in the season, its a little early IMO.

Louis Nix III and Clowney if you include injuries. Thought they both would make a difference and Clowney would fight for defensive rookie of the year.

To date? It's absolutely Clowney. Unless you're drafting a QB to groom, you expect the first pick in the draft to have immediate impact; particularly as a pass rusher.

He certainly has a chance to change that, obviously. But if we're just saying through today...that's my answer.

why do we continue to hammer at this draft class in every post, create new threads all around the same theme, when it is widely accepted that you can't judge a draft class for 3 years.

keep doing it for the same small set of data and the results are not going to change. wait for a year or two and they will.

if you're not going to wait, state it in one place and be done with it. Don't keep hammering it home in a new place.

Our current draft looks like ass. We can all agree. It's damn near shameful how bad it looks and added upon the poor drafts of yesteryear, looks to be a shear loser. But then you realize that it wasn't the previous regimes heavy hand drafting. That we can't know what will happen with the trench guys we drafted in yr 1. That they will have a learning curve and some are dealing with non-career threatening injuries.

If next year, Clowney is producing, XSF is starting and homeboy from ND is healthy and playing a good nose tackle - you throw in blue and some of the free agent work they did and you say Rick Smith had and amazing year.

If XSF is still backing up, Clowney is on the rack, I won't even care what the nose tackle is doing - you say they blew it. And then you move on. (hopefully with a new gm)

Did you honestly expect we'd get this little contribution from our draft?

I mean when you go 2-14..and draft first in every round...as a fan, you have a certain expectation (fair or not) that help is on the way. That you're going to at least see some impact from the high quality rookies you're bringing in.
