It seems to me with all the mention of Joe Smith in various newspapers linked to the Rockets, he seems to be our #1 target. I guess a lot of guys are going to be disappointed, as most of the board seems to want either Amir, Darko, or Varejao. Mikki and Webber never got the board too excited. I think Joe Smith is probably the most name worthy guy we could bring in, unless the mystery trade that Morey always talks about, gets done. Seems like we got some competition for Joe Smith, so it will be interesting to say the least.

Would really like Joe to join the Rocks! I thnk he might be the best fit just as long as we dont over pay- too much. ;) I think the best question will be does he want to come play with the big boys in the WEST!!!

still hoping for a trade. Joe Smith is not much of an upgrade over Juwan

Please, let's pass. He's at the end of his career, he's never been a passer, a shot blocker, a player who could pick up some steals, or a guy that can shoot from Downtown. He's like Juwan as a shooter and at the line, but a decidedly average rebounder. At this point, Smith would be yet another Rockets vet who would be running on fumes by the time we get to the playoffs. 5-6 years ago? Maybe. I think we can do better, and hopefully younger and more athletic. A nice guy, but Howard was a great guy, himself.

    Keep looking, Rocks.

I think Smith is better than Varajo or Mikki Moore or anyone else mentioned.. I think he would compliment Yao pretty well..

Joe Smith would be a solid addition. But word is he is looking for the FULL MLE. No way we give that to him. I think Morey probably feels his value is around 3 years 10M.

I'd be sort of disappointed if all we got was Joe Smith.

For......... sake I hope it isn't true! Such a big mistake, how could Morey believe that he is the missing Power Forward that we have all yearned for, for so many seasons.
NOT ANOTHER HOWARD! PLEASE SAY IT ISN"T SO!!!

Varejao (or Camby) remain #1 for me, and doable, I believe. I want to believe.

If it is Smith I could live with that, but...
