    I think they are joking around... but maybe then Manu got offended because he was already in a crappy enough mood due to being sick. It's all fun and game until somebody pulls out the pistol, I guess.

    On second thought, they were probably both joking. I think the author could have done a better job making it clear.

    For instance, he could have written this:

    “Basically, half the team is suffering from this cold, and everybody is blaming me because I was the first one,” he joked.

    This really makes me think how much less hate Tmac would have gotten if his quotes were written like that:

    "It's on me," he joked.

    "I'm tired of these cameo roles," he joked.

    Looks much better, right? ;)

    A. He's really, really good and he plays really, really hard. *ahem*

    B. He may take a discount to play with Scola (this is speculation but he did mention he'd like to play with Scola if he plays elsewhere).

    C. There are some rumors that SA may not keep him around.

    D. We may not be able to get anything better and we are in desperate need of a legit SG. See Bimathug's thread in the GARM about our cap situation.

    I'm 99.9% certain this isn't serious. And that the article made it seem like a big deal.

    As for Manu, his health bothers me. Especially considering our own history of injured players. But if Morey decides to go the "depth over stars" route in team-building, Manu would be an awesome piece to the puzzle.

    Will we still have the MLE after the big McGrady deal?

    I believe we would but I'm fairly clueless when it comes to salary cap matters.

    Assuming we do, is it outside the realm of possibility that we could get Manu to come here for the MLE over x number of years to play with Scola?

    Lowry / Brooks
    Martin / Ginobili
    Ariza / Battier
    Scola / Hill
    Yao / Hayes

    Budinger, Jeffries, Andersen, Taylor, etc...

    Possible, but highly unlikely, I think. The Rockets are already committed for $60 mil, signign Scola alone would take them up to the tax threshhold (and that's not even including Lowry), anything they pay using the MLE cost them double.

    With Martin in the fold, and Battier, Ariza and Budinger also on the wing, I doubt they are eager to pay double the MLE for Ginobili. For better or worse, we've hitched our wagon with Kevin Martin at the 2.
