I thought I had them deduct the max amount for my withholding, but it looks like I owe money to the IRS. At least it isn't a 100 grand or something crazy. How did you guys do with uncle Sam? Did you make some money?
Filed an extension again. Looking like a few grand owed due to rental property. How do y'all shysters gig the system?
People voting "refund 10000+" or "owe 10000+"...wow. As a graduate student, I can't even imagine those numbers.
A little over a 1000 to the good. My boss has it set up to hold out a little extra from our checks. His reasoning is just in case we have to pay in it would help ease the pain.
This... And daycare makes it even more lovely. Though I'd much rather not shell out $600+ a month for a glorified babysitter.
Anyone getting a refund of $10,000+ is not being truthful. And if they are being truthful, man are they wasting money throughout the year.
I'd assume you live in metro Houston, no? There's advantages for living well outside of the city limits.
It's in the Memorial area but even the ok daycares out near our house Cypress/Copperfield were around that much. The Kids R Kids near our house, which hasn't been updated since it's opening 20 years ago (they actually told us that during our tour), costs about the same. I had no idea that was how much daycares cost. At least they supply the diapers and wipes. :/
Self employed and prefer not to pay quarterly estimated taxes. So my one consolation to getting raped is every year I get an amusing phone call from my accountant who is very solemn and apologetic about my owing 5 digits thinking I won't be expecting it and may not have the funds, but of course I have them put aside =)
