    It's a meaningless statement unless you know what he means by "best". Green is the more versatile player, but that doesn't mean he's more important than Thompson in terms of their contribution to winning.

    Yes, best is very vague. Maybe he thinks Klay Thompson is clearly better. We can never know from such terms as "best."

    Now, if he had said "Draymond Green is calibrated to bring us more on-court winning power per basketball time unit," that would have been much more precise. Until he says THAT, though, he could really be saying anything. Maybe he thinks Green is best at Twitter. His words don't specify.

    No their small ball lineup is so good because they don't give up much of anything on defense...because of Draymond Green.

    And Jerry West was talking about how Green is a top 10 player in the entire NBA, and how they have two of them. There isn't anything ambiguous about that.

    Also as we talk about this, you guys see Green almost single handily bring them back vs the Celtics.

    I'd pay the max to a player who was effectively ref-proof like that....

    @wekko

    DG ast numbers are still inflated right, since he benefits so much from just passing to curry/Thompson apparently

    A 1-game sample against one of the worst defenses in the NBA?

    Yep, you absolutely proved me wrong. :rolleyes:

    Yeah that continues to be your only response. He's a playmaker and he will get his asst regardless of who he plays with which has been the point from the beginning. Why that's so hard for you to understand is puzzling. Like I said this is the nba players will make shots.

    Really? The Rockets beg to differ.

    Like I've said before, go watch some youtube videos of Green and see how he gets the bulk of his assists. He stands at the top of the key with the ball while Curry/Thompson run through a myriad of screens to get open.

    Do other teams have a pair of shooters like Curry/Thompson? Do other teams get away with as many illegal screens as the Warriors do?

    That's why I think his assist numbers are inflated. He wouldn't be able to get those numbers on a different team.

    What about the rockets. Offensively they do make shots. Just because they lose doesn't make this untrue. There's nobody on this team that can do what Draymond does. It's their defense that's last in the league that's the problem. DG would still be within his avg of assist on whatever team he would play with. All this crying of illegal screens etc are typically what losers say and are just simply tiresome. Rockets are just plain dumb defensively but it's apparently the "illegal screens" that do it. Players are caught ball watching/trying to sell a foul instead of staying with their man. Then once separation occurs they try to run through the screens instead of around. That's just undisciplined/stupid defense and that's on nothing but them. DG is doing this on a championship team. He could easily maintain his asst numbers on any other team

    In terms of shot-making, there's a huge difference between the Warriors and the Rockets. Trying to conflate them is an intellectually dishonest argument.

    There's also nobody on this team that can do what Curry or Thompson do.

    How? If the majority of Green's assists come from the off-ball play of Curry/Thompson, how can Green replicate his production on another team?
