Seems as if he signed with a promise of the starting C job. I wonder if the ultimate goal is to bring in Dwight and play him at the 4. That team would be unbeatable defensively. I think we would have a little trouble scoring though.

I can't understand a word he is saying. But he seems like a cool guy and I am excited to watch him play.

They keep implying starting center... It's going to be a long season I remember not to long ago Morey had most Houston fans believing in Brad Miller playing center.

Dragic and Lowry's numbers taken by the two free agents we brought in.

Finally learned the correct pronunciation -- it's AH-shik rather than ah-SHEEK, stress on the first syllable.

yeah but Miller was really a stretch 4 with some length and no defensive prowess (remember Dave Andersen?)..Asik is a legit defensive force and could EASILY average 10 rebounds a game 2+ blocks. Not saying he's a saviour but could be a key building piece. Teams win without a center being the core offensive piece nowadays and he's young with updside to boot. Need to find that superstar but its a good start!

I liked Sam's comment that former & present Asik teammates said that Asik wasn't your typical 7 foot premadonna & that he was a team player. Was that a reference to Dwight?

Omer clearly doesn't mean Treble in Turkish.

Maury should have made it to the conference. He's paying the guy 15 million in one year, the least he could do is be there to put his face behind it. I know he's at the olympics supporting some folks, but still... GMs host player introductions. It's a rule I read somewhere.

Anywhoo... excited to have the big man. I think he'll be better than Deke and Mr. full court 3 pointer man when they were here and that's saying a lot bc those guys really contributed.

I now predict we win 21 games instead of 10. O.A. will make that kind of impact.
