Aminu is under rated by a lot of the fans here. I thought he was a versatile defender before we played the Mavs at all this season (I also thought it was a good pick up for the mavs at a minimum deal). I hope he gets a 5-8 mil a year somewhere for a few years. I believe that's what he's worth. He'd be a great role player for a contender.

Hope he gets paid! He played very hard and has improved his shooting tremendously. Worth at least 7 to 8 million in this market.

This guy could be the Corey Brewer / Trevor Ariza some team needs.

If we didn't already have both, I'd consider making a run at Aminu.

I'd still take a run at him if the price is right

You can never have enough defensive wings IMO.

He's not a bad player but don't be fooled by his uncharacteristically good 3 point shooting in the playoffs.

At a minimum, we should drive up the price for him to stick it to the Mavs.

One thing the Mavs series exposed is that we need an upgrade at SF. Ariza is nice, but definitely not a long term solution.

I would too but since the Rockets will be over the cap, free agents will no longer be an option for the Rockets.

Draft, trades, and assets like lull will be the only option. Lets see were these playoffs take them. Aminu will get paid, it will be interesting to see if he puts in the work to get better. He could be like Favors who hasn't produced more with the extra minutes but instead looks tired. Aminu and his Sleepy Floyd eyes.

I don't know. What if he's been working on that and has improved his shot recently? I remember watching the Jazz back in 1996 when they went up against Seattle(who had just swept us) and out of nowhere, Bryon Russell had gone from a scrub small forward on their bench to a pretty decent defensive stopper who could knock down 3-pointers with regularity. The following season, he replaced David Benoit as the starter and....well, we unfortunately know the rest.

As for the Rockets pursuing Aminu, that doesn't make a lot of sense unless we either lose Brewer to another team(which seems doubtful) or Ariza is part of a trade for a 3rd star. I'm curious how hard Dallas tries to retain him given how much they already have invested in Parsons.

If alec burks gets 12 mil per, then Aminu should get around 7-8.

honestly I'm not buying Aminu playing this well. Seems like that old contract year thing popping up.

Flexible, can play many positions, good team player, and good intangibles.

EDIT: oh, nevermind. Someone changed the thread title. Looks like you're talking about a basketball player named "Aminu" and not Amine anymore.

Shooting might suck next season, but his defense will always be there. He doesn't have the crazy long arms of Ariza nor does he have his ability to play the passing lanes just right, but Aminu can body up 1-on-1 pretty well.

Whoever is going to pay for him will have to realize how big a offensive liability he will be unless teams leave him wide open.

Right. Going 7 for 11 doesn't mean you are no longer a 28% shooter.

I gained a ton of respect for Aminu after this series. He was one of the few Mavs who didn't employ bush-league tactics of flopping, and trying to play the refs. He manned up, played hard defense, and crashed the boards without getting caught up in any of that other nonsense. He even knocked down badly-needed 3 pointers for them.
