This guy is old, plays no defense and has an ego. On the other hand we have a younger, more athletic defensive minded big man named Terrence Jones. What is the thinking here?
We tried to dangle Terrence Jones at the draft and were close to pulling the trigger on a draft move up. He's not staying here.
IF we need a backup big, just sign this guy: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/PyHS-oTeAkM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
morey was trying to do some package of tjones to the suns for I assume dragic at the trade deadline last year.
He can still play and would a solid addition for the vet minimum. Yeah, he has his shortcomings but so do Boozer and Scola. Any of the above would be a great pickup for the minimum. Plus, to be fair: he was often times the only Dallas player that actually attacked the basket and didn't look scared in that first round series. We're a team that's incredibly prone to scoring droughts, so I like that quality in a player.
We get Amar'e to replace TJones and then trade Tjones for Bledsoe, Lawson, Lowry or some other good PG
Dangled for anything and everything. Jones would look good next to Tyson Chandler. Package him to Suns for Eric Bledsoe.
If they got amare, they could trade either d-mo or tj, doesnt matter to me. What he brings is great mid range shooting off pick and pop/roll and a very good free throw shooter. He's big enough in todays game to play backup c also. He's played well in the playoffs and brings a great work ethic. Tj or dmo starts, amare backs up them and backs up howard and capella would be the extra big in case of injury.
so why would DM be looking into Amare, Perk, Boozer unless he's planning to unload Dmo, TJ, and maybe even Capela via trade or S&T
Lol. U know we need to plan for every possibility at the 4. Spacing, stretch 4, pick and pop. Tall dominating, pf/c, in case Dwight is Howard. Rebounding and Blocking machine. Dynamic back-to-the-basket skilled big. Potentials Potentials backup Potentials backup backup STAT. Our analysts love the statistics.
