Is it fair to say George Karl's days being competent are [way] behind him?
Cousins for Lawson and Faried? That's crazy talk. Just Lawson + Faried themselves on that Kings team makes no sense.

Add Lawson and Faried to the Rockets... ok, that makes sense. For the Kings? It's just a mediocrity train...

I wouldn't mind facilitating Lawson to the Kings if we could pickup Collison.

Why waste an asset trading for Collison, who is still recovering from a hip injury, instead of just signing Llull?

Llull isn't a proven nba veteran. Collison is good for 12 points, 5 assist on good percentages while being a smart decision maker. Llull is unproven in the nba, sure he may come over and be successful, but he also might flop and never crack the rotation. At least we know Collison will probably be back in shape, ready to contribute come playoff time next season.

You know who has doubts about Collison's ability to be a difference-maker? His own team's coach George Karl.

Collison is, at best, an OK NBA player. I wouldn't mind having him, but even just in terms of the salary needed to match his contract $, I think the Rockets are hoping for, and likely will have, better uses for these minor assets.

You don't give up valuable assets for the likes of Darren Collison. He's, at best, an average NBA player who is coming off a hip injury. He doesn't move the needle in the slightest. Llull might be an unknown, but outside of money, we're not having to give up anything of value to bring him in.

You know what would be funny, is if Denver and Sacramento just completely switched rosters/gms/coaches......oh wait...

Well the Kings are a different team then the Rockets, what the Kings need right now from the point isn't exactly what we need (or could use). Collison has proven to be a difference maker on his teams over the years, for the Pelicans, for the Pacers and Clippers. He's not Lawson, who averages double the assist that Collison does, but he would be a nice piece for the Rockets IMO. He can shoot the 3, his quickness allows for him to create for him self on offense, he's a solid facilitator and he's on a nice contract.

    Bingo.

And the same thing goes for Lawson. He's simply not worth that much in trade because the league is full of quality point guards and he's making over $12 million and will impinge on cap space for next summer on whatever team he is on. Why is any team in their right mind going to give up any considerable assets (including picks) for Lawson and his contract? I'd rather have Tyus on a rookie deal. And keep all my assets for something else. And I'm sure Morey feels the same.

The truth about point guards in the NBA right now is AS SOON AS THEY SIGN A LONG-TERM CONTRACT FOR BIG BUCKS THEIR TRADE VALUE GOES TO THE BASEMENT. There's simply too many good, young point guards and more on the way every summer.

Ty Lawson's trade value is other vet players on long-term contracts. Whichever team gives Denver some sort of decent picks and/or young talent for him is stupid.

And we're not even talking about his drinking problem. Lawson really has negative trade value at this point. If Denver can move him to the Knicks along with #7 for #4 they've done absolutely great and PJax is being stupid.

Well if he's taken the full MLE, you do have an opportunity cost in bringing him over. You may be giving up KJ McDaniels, or the possibility of getting ______ in FA at the MLE. But agree on not giving up assets for someone like Collison.

So the Nuggets won the trade?

Man...this season is more amazing by the day. Unbelievable.
