Obviously the whole team besides james harden is playing like trash but if we have any chance in the series Josh smith has to step up. He has all the ability to do so but this series he's played like trash on both ends. He is the one who should be putting it on Griffen and he's not. Josh smith has to turn up sometime or we have no chance. He's got to hit those wide open 3s and he's got to drive and score. N obviously we need that hard defense and rebounding from him. Also he looks just out of place and non agressive. All his moves are just plain and easy to read. He doesn't look combfortable and almost looks afraid to make a play Cuz he's scared.

End of story if he doesn't come through and add some support from the bench were doomed. If we can get him and corey brewer at least contributing we might have a chance.

    Blake on Josh Smith
is the biggest mismatch in this series.

= LaMarcus Aldridge vs short PFs last year

That's the thing Josh smith should be athletically inclined enough to guard him. Because we all know Terrence jones can't.

He had 7 pts & 7 rebs (5 off) in only 8 min in the 1st half. He needs more burn.

Did you watch the game? Not trying to be an ass, asking honestly. I thought he did more harm than good, overall.

    Hard defense and rebounding??????????

What Josh Smith are we talking about here???

And he was never a 3pt shooter, so this is the norm for him

He won't be here next year and Rox fans can thank their lucky stars for that. Now you know why SVG had to dump him for nothing.

He'll be back. But he played himself out of a nice raise this series. He'll have to settle for whatever the Rockets can scrounge up cuz no other team out there is gonna throw a huge offer his way.

Any thoughts of maybe starting Josh Smith?. I mean terrance jones isn't doing nothing and is playing just as bad if not worse. Might shake things up and he might be able to stop Blake in the first half better then jones.

Nope, At least Jones tries on defense, its just not good.

Smith for the most part just doesnt try. He'll give you the bare minimum and thats it for him. Watch when he gets screened, it happened in G2 when he was guarding, didnt try to recover, just floated and left Griffin wide open countless times

Hell no. Smith has been garbage this series. At least T-Jones had a good 3rd quarter in Game 2 and a decent start last night.

He took some ill-advised shots & lost his head over a few whistles, but he also did some good things. I liked his activity, especially on the glass. He's much more involved than TJ, who has looked really heavy-footed & unsure of himself since coming back. Smoove's ability to handle & create also opens up some different doors for the offense.

What do you suggest? Continue to feed the majority of the PT at the 4 to TJ? Play more small-ball with TA at the 4 and Brew at the 3?

    Not even close.

JET on either CP3 or Redick is far more troublesome.

Not to take this off topic, but have you not noticed Howard's play this year (and last postseason as well)? As much of a Harden homer as I can be, Howard is the team's best post season performer by far. He is nails.

That's the thing - Blake went off and we won game 2. He was held in check last night and freaking Austin Rivers went Michael Jordan mode.

It's team defense, not just one guy. That's what makes it so frustrating as fans.

I didn't want to be the first to say it, but now that I'm not, I think you have the wrong name here.
