Rockets at # 2  http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/11367757/2014-nba-summer-forecast-team-turmoil
Lakers at the top spot gives them the clicks they so desperately crave. Rockets at two continues pushing the negative Rockets narrative ESPN has so wonderfully crafted. Well done!
The team needs some controversy. Not too much. But obviously some. It's hard to think of any NBA champion in recent history who didn't prevail after overcoming tension. So the "potential turmoil" tensions is good for them, imo. That said, on paper the turmoil is that they didn't use assets to get better. Not that they got a ton worse, or worse at all. All of the players they lost had negatives that basically cancelled out their positives. This is true if you watched, or if you look at stats (like 82games.com Simple Ratings, where Lin and Asik were both net negative). - Lin's inconsistent play negated any of his positive play. - Asik's "injury" status and "attitude", combined with half-hearted play as a backup, negated any of his positive play. - Parson is probably the biggest loss, but he was also replaced with the biggest replacement. And his lack of defense and so-so at best clutch play negated and of his positive play. I see the Rockets as a 3rd-7th seed (in the West, that could be a 2 game difference), and playoffs being all that matters anyway.
I hate ESPN at this point. Gammons and his sanctimonious b.s. about the Astros... contrived team cancer crap about the Rockets. HOU against the world. Let's go!
Sad but true. Our starting pg can't distribute or create his own shot, and our starting pf can't stop the average Western Conference starting pf to save his life. Our bench is inexperienced and unproven. By the end of the season Bev will be injured and/or sick from overuse and Harden will be fatigued to the point of non-factor. Dwight will have to be big come playoff time. It's still possible...but someone else on this roster is going to have step up.
