I want to start this thread because I think our two superstars could get hosed this year as a result of the "villainization" of the Rockets this past summer.

James Harden is having an MVP season, yet he may not even start the All-Star Game. Steph Curry has become the NBA's darling and was the top vote-getter last year among West guards. Kobe was second, despite missing virtually the entire season. Both Chris Paul and Jeremy Lin (lol) got more votes than Harden last year.

It's getting silly to me that they took center off the ballot. Dwight Howard may not even make the game this year, which is ridiculous. Yes, he has missed 12 games so far, but he's averaging 19.5 points on 59.4% FG, 11.5 rebounds and 2.4 blocks. By comparison, MVP candidate Marc Gasol is 19.6 points on 50% FG, 7.8 rebounds and 1.7 blocks. If he misses a bunch more games I would agree he shouldn't make it, but right now this shouldn't eliminate him.

Online, Text Message, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram ... there are plenty of ways to vote:

Retweets count as well, right? I've been retweeting every time I see someone vote for them.

Being snubbed will motivate Harden and Howard. More fuel to the FIRE!

So, DO NOT vote for them! Vote for Kobe instead!

Great thread, it would be a shame if Harden is not a starter. Voting daily on as many platforms as I can remember.

I can do ten tweets per day, should it be 50/50 Harden/Howard?

    Thanks, Clutch.

I'm wonder if you could do the following:

Before the voting deadline, whenever you mention Howard and Harden's names in a tweet, please add a #NBAballot tag.

That way whoever retweet your tweet will get a vote for them.

Harden def isnt starting he wont get more votes than Kobe and the cp3/CUrry combo is way more popular. he will voted in by coaches tho no doubt. Howard may have a chance, last year Klove barely passed him to start, and hes gone now. But Anthony Davis has risen , and KD and Blake are locks. Dwight might not get the coaches vote either , with his comp. of gasol and cousins , along with his string of injuries.

I'm not hoping that neither make the team, but we need that underdog mentality. Harden and Howard being snubbed would definitely spark that.

that being said I fully expect both to come of the bench.

This was so much easier when we had China doing this for us.

We could ask China to pick up the slack, but that would probably mean apologizing to LOFs.

    Nah.

I have lost a lot of faith in this kind of popularity contest... it is recognition but nobody needs to watch the allstar game

    Lackaidasical highlight reel games

Has there ever been an MVP who didn't start the All-Star game?

That might be kind of vindicating actually.

I would actually like them both missing the team. More motivation/rest.

Yes... just off the top of my head, Hakeem started the 1995 All-Star Game but David Robinson was the League MVP.

Much like I rigged the coin flip for Olajuwon, I have developed a device to beat this ballot system and the vegas slot machines all in one.
