[TV] Better Call Saul

I guess in the grand scheme of things technically that's a spoiler. Gone.

 

I wonder if he can carry a show himself.

 

Guess it is better to have a prequel so that you could have Mike and other cast tie-ins. Still don't know how I feel about Saul having his own show. Him being the comic relief/sleezy lawyer play so perfectly in BB.

Sorry, didn't think that constituted a spoiler. But I should be more cautious in these threads I suppose. To be fair.. It WAS spoiler tagged, but I guess that doesn't help.

 

Maybe after I watch the episode, I won't feel it was a spoiler.

It's a prequel tho. Pre-Heisenberg

 

Bob Odenkirk has produced some great comedy shows in his career, so I imagine he'll be more than just an actor in this show.

He wrote the Chris Farley motivational speaker character.

Saul deals with some pretty awful people; some that he hates that he knows. The prequel will probably go into how he made those relationships. Saul will probably still be the few/only comic relief in his own show. I think it will be great.

 

Odenkirk's a comic genius. I could not be happier for his success.

 

Hope we have Mike return since it's a prequel.

At this point I think they could make a show called METH DAMON and people would watch

I'd rather watch a show about Meth Damon. Saul can be his sleazy lawyer.

I think his backstory could be very interesting, but better told through fan fiction/comics/books/etc, not its own series.

 

Coincidentally I listened to a podcast interview w/ Odenkirk yesterday, hoping that it would come to fruition.

He's one of my favorites in comedy by far. You kind of miss the context in the yelling montage posted here, but it kills me whenever he does that. How he blows up out of nowhere, so over the top, and yet plays it so straight, similar to Farrell.

I'm really happy for him, probably the biggest thing he'll be known for now.
