I'm going to go ahead and say it. Marcus Smart will be the best player to come out of this draft. The guy is GREAT! To me if wiggins is the lebron of this draft smart is dwade. I just think if you draft Marcus Smart you are getting a helluva player, and probably the next big thing.
His shooting and overall offensive efficiency is worrisome, but hard not to like the rest of his game. I'm with ya on this one, 'what'.
Back in February after his fan-pushing incident, a mock draft had him falling to 14. I couldn't believe that. You have some concerns with his offensive efficiency, true, but just based on his defensive ability, combined with his size, strength and athleticism at the position, he's worth more than that.
Pelton's WARP system has Smart at the top of the rookie season projected WARP, which means he'd likely be the most productive rookie next year. Overall I like him as a top5 pick.
Don't know if he'll become the best player out this draft but he'll def. be a solid PG in the league for several years. His combination of leadership ability, toughness, size and D isn't something you see alot and all of his flaws are things that can be tweaked and perfected. I could see him become a Jarrett Jack type player but way more athletic and ANGRY lol.
I think he will be a better than Jack based on size, athleticism and potential. Jack is just a role player, a good one though.
