Morey has consulted with both teams on trying to get one of the two, with both teams telling Morey "they are committed to them".

As of now this is the update. Just wanted to share. Not really breaking news, but he has TRIED.

rubio i can understand, but what is boston's angle? bigger package? they even have the press asking him bogus questions to make it seem like the glaring obvious about him wanting out isn't true.

Please tell Morey to ask about Marcus Smart too.

Yeah not shocking but thanks for the update Cyberx.

-From Boston's angle, the Rockets really don't have what they need in a package to justify making the move. By all accounts there is still a possibility of that Celtics team competing for a playoff spot, and there is still a possibility of flipping their assets at the deadline for couple quality players, or an all-star type of player to pair with Rondo.

If the team gets off to a rough start, and Rondo starts making statements about leaving in free agency(which he's shown no indication to make thus far), than yeah... I think they will be open to moving him at the deadline.

-With Rubio, its been stated numerous times by me.... why would Minnesota look to trade him now? They think he's a great fit for the team they currently have, and they have the upper hand at retaining him on a value contract in restricted free agency next Summer. A higher priority would be to move 1 or 2 of their higher priced wings.

-With both of these trade scenarios I just don't see leverage in the Rockets case to pry these players out, and I certainly don't see assets that would appeal to either team since neither team seems to be too worried about acquiring draft picks (Minnesota TRADED the Miami pick for Thad Young/Boston almost has too many picks coming up they will need to package or unload) and neither teams really are in need of young PF's.

-The One asset the Rockets need to make a deal like this worthwhile for either team is to be able to take on bad salary which is something the Rockets really aren't able to do at this point. That's really the only thing (other than an all-star caliber player they are willing to trade them) that I could see enticing either team at this point. The Rockets just don't have the leverage or the assets to accomplish much right now.

February will be here before we know it folks, and things will change around the league. Don't cry over spilled milk.

The rockets just want to get a third star on the team if this is true, but I am not sure that Rubio is a star. The current Rondo is not even close to a former Rondo a few years ago, I do not think he is a star either.

DM doesn't realize that Rubio is not a major game changer. Rondo is ok for his expiring contract, if he is fit and willing to play for us.

Thanks for the official verification, cyber.

Gotta wait another 7-17 days to see if this goes down. ;)

This does speak to information flow and how different sources hear different things at different times. Everybody knows cyber is legit. He didn't have anything on Rubio/Rondo until just now. Others already had info on it. Should tell you to keep your eyes open around here. ;)

Not true. You continue to be wrong on this and now unwilling to accept it from a verified insider.

Glad we did not get either player, both are not the answer. Rondo is a cancer and Rubio is scared.
