FYI: ESPN had Canaan listed as NR last season, but actually was ranked #419 last year.

    #43 Parsons
    #52 Batum
    #84 Ariza

Batum Parsons should be neck and neck. Ariza should not be a good 40+ ranks behind Parsons. It's all just a game that doesn't matter to help past time and accumulate clicks, but that's way off.

Batum 5.1 assists, Parsons 4.0. And Batum schools Parsons every match up. Ariza didn't have a Lillard or Harden to pump up his assists, but he is a way better defender and 3pt shooter as we all know.

I just think that Mike Conley is one of the most complete basketball players, especially point guards, there have ever been in the league. And I respect how he plays so much.

Obviously you got guys like John Wall, Steph Curry, Westbrook and Chris Paul, who are unbelievable talents and they deserve the accolades they get and certainly they are better.

But I've seen Mike Conley go toe to toe with Chris Paul many times, so yeah I like Mike Conley a whole lot. I'm not saying Conley is better than those guys, but I am saying that the gap between Conley and the big four isn't THAT great.

Lowry is well below these guys however in my opinion.

    Yes, ever.

    Look at it this way:
Conley handles: elite. With both hands. Conley literally almost never turns the ball over. He can score equally well with both the right hand and the left hand.

A fun fact: literally the entire memphis offense is geared around Mike's ability to get the opposition out of position and going the wrong way by using Mike's ability to create a motion offense. And this is all geared around Mike's ability to handle the basketball in traffic, and the opposition repecting Mike's ability to shoot the outside jumper.

Espn came out with a stat, on the rank page for Conley, about how Conley held the ball 7.4 minutes a game which was good for 5th in the nba. Without Mike Conley there is no Memphis offense (which, okay, insert your joke), but it is true. Mike does everything.

Mike has no flaws. Literally the only bad thing you can say about Conley is that he doesn't score enough and he does jump out of the building athletically. That's about it.

Just off the top of my head...

    LeBron
    Durant
    Westbrook
    Dwight
    Harden
    Chris Paul
    Blake Griffen
    Kevin Love
    Anthony Davis
    Stephen Curry

Which NBA elite do you want to disrespect? And this isn't even including lower tier all stars like Lillard, Paul George, Chris Bosh, Aldridge, John Wall, etc...

If the Rockets were to get either Millsap or Horford. Both are very solid at #32 and #26

    25. Dirk Nowitzki
    Paul George?

based on who's left. the order might not be quite like that though.

man, when i look at the entire list, i think how weak the league has gotten in the last 10+ years. LeBron only looks so dominant because there's no one even close to a top 100 all time player in their prime (outside of Durant and maybe Paul) left. Kobe and Duncan are shells of themselves (for the last several years actually) and if it weren't for Kobe's recent injuries he would be in the top 25 with Duncan and freaking Dirk. only the point guard position is strong and the small forward position is thin after LeBron and Durant are out, and both of those players along with Carmelo aren't true small forwards like Dirk and KG (who started out as small forwards). the shooting guard (especially), center and power forward positions have been greatly weakened. again, almost 40 year old Duncan and Dirk are still two of the best PFs in the game. Joakim freaking Noah (i do really like his game and how he plays, however) is a top 3 center. i don't see anyone in the top 10 outside of LeBron and Durant (and maybe Paul again, but he has no MVPs, no titles, but 4 first team selections in a strong PG field) making it to the Hall of Fame, although Curry and Westbrook still have a lot of time left to make a case. all of the strongest young PGs today are terribly injury prone, however.

Jordan played against Bird, Magic, Dream and Shaq in their primes as well as both Malones, Robinson, Ewing, Barkley, McHale, Stockton, Thomas, Drexler, Bernard King, Dominique Wilkins, Alex English, Worthy and Parish. he just barely missed Kareem, Gervin and Julius Erving's primes. if you include Wizards Jordan, he also played against Duncan, Garnett, Kobe, Dirk, Kidd and Nash in their primes as well. he barely missed Pippen's prime  he also played against lesser greats like T-Mac, Penny, C-Webb, Grant Hill, Allen Iverson, Chris Mullin, Mitch Richmond, Tim Hardaway, Reggie Miller and Payton (who in their prime would definitely be top 5 players today). he barely missed Yao's prime

LeBron's great rival(s)? Durant (two times a year unless they meet in the finals) and an aging Dirk and Duncan (and Kobe), also two times a year unless they meet in the finals.

Outside of hype, there is absolutely no reason to put Anthony Davis 5th.

that's more an indictment of how weak the remaining top 10 (or even top 25) are. who else after Curry can carry a team by himself? the next best player on Golden State is #38 Klay Thompson (i think that ranking is low actually). Harden and Howard had each other and a much better supporting cast and barely did better than Golden State. Kevin Love couldn't do jack with a decent supporting cast (better than Davis' in New Orleans) in Minnesota. and Davis is only going to get better while Love has peaked. Griffin? see Harden and Howard. hell, Joakim Noah did a better job than most of the people in front of him, considering how offensively challenged the Bulls were last year. we'll see how good Westbrook really is this year. i think slightly worse than Curry, even if his defense and rebounding is better.

Meh I think wherever Curry is at Harden should be right next to him. I won't argue if someone likes Curry over Harden, but they are oh so close in impact.

I would argue GS had a stronger supporting cast. Our top 2 were better, but I like their 3-5 group better than I liked ours. I think you are overstating how much Curry carried that team by himself.

    Agreed.

Golden State has arguably the best starting 5 in the NBA top to bottom. Think there is a All-Star in every position.

Golden State was closer to Philly in the early part of the 00's, elite defense making up for sub par offense, given the offensive talent on the team, that's more an indictment for how little Curry improves his team mates, but he's popular and shoots 3's, so eh. Curry couldn't carry a subpar defense to the playoffs, like say, James Harden.

The hell? Golden State's supporting cast was significantly better than ours, the cross guards? klay is better than bev, the gap between lee and jones is miles greater than dwight to bogut, amd iggy is better than parsons.... Plus the Golden State record was more about their defense than their offense, and that sure as hell wasn't Curry's doing, lol.
