Im cheap so I don't have insider, can someone please post it here <HR> Update by Admin: http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/nba/columns/story?columnist=sheridan_chris&id=5908902
When discussing possible trade destinations for Carmelo Anthony, New Jersey and New York are the two teams that dominant the discussion. But Michael Jordan is reportedly looking to get his hands on Melo as well. "(New York's) where he wants to be, not Jersey. But Michael Jordan is pushing to get him, too, and save the Bobcats' season," a league source with knowledge of the trade discussions told ESPN.com on Friday night, according to ESPN's Chris Sheridan. Bill Ingram of HOOPSWORLD is hearing similar whispers. "There are no solid details about what the Bobcats might give up ... but given what the Bobcats have been willing to offer up in the past it's logical to think they would part with Gerald Wallace and Boris Diaw, two pieces that would help the Nuggets," he wrote. Diaw was reportedly headed to the Jazz in part of the original four-team deal that had Anthony going to the Nets, one that fell through before the season -- so he would make sense as a likely trade chip. But the Nuggets are also reportedly looking to receive young, emerging talent in an Anthony trade, something the Bobcats don't really possess. And the Bobcats might also face long odds of convincing Melo to sign an extension with them beyond this season. So while Jordan may be trying to deal for Anthony, he faces some obstacles. - Ryan Corazza
Yeah right Melo will go to North Carolina. I know Melo is part of Team Jordan Brand, but no way he goes from weighing his options between Nets and Knicks, to going to Bobcats. He's going to New York whether its Nets or Knicks. And it'll happen trade or no trade. For the same reason, I hope Rockets don't bother trading for him because it'll only be a rental. You don't just 'convince' a grown man's opinion and say once he gets here he'll love it here and sign the extension. That's the corniest crap I ever heard! LOL
Why after all the years of internet rumors by NY media members do people keep trusting the notion that players want to play for NY at any and every opportunity?
Except for the fact that Carmelo at NY actually makes a lot of sense. Carmelo played a Syracuse - check Carmelo's wife native of Brooklyn - check Carmelo and his wife got married in NY - check Carmelo's wife can have a career in NY - check Carmelo can team up with Amare - check Lala says Knicks are possibility http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/knicks/2010/08/carmelos-bride-says-knicks-are.html Carmelo won't sign extension unless to NY http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/nba/news/story?id=5912307
and gerald wallace and diaw are scrubs? obviously that comment cant be referring to wallace, however you said scrubs, so i dunno what you mean. but unless you don't watch basketball you know that wallace is not a scrub, nor is diaw. diaw may not be good, but he is a solid role player and he isn't having that bad of a season at 12 - 5 - 3
Don't understand why CHA wants Carmelo. I mean, every team can use a Carmelo for sure, but CHA is pretty stacked at the SF position, even if Cap'n Jack plays SG. Carmelo's natural position is at the 3, and I just can't see Gerald Wallace making the switch from the 3 to the 4, to accommodate Carmelo.
Jordan also said he could score 100 points in a game in today's NBA, so it sounds like delusion is setting in.
