Question about conferences that block rooms. My sister is going to one the week we happen to be going in September. They have a block of rooms at Caesars for a great price and I can get to the payment screen with no issues. Will there be a way for them to know we aren't attending the conference?

There is probably a conference code box that allow that transaction to go through or not. If you can get that code from your sister, you should be ok, but it might get your sister in trouble.

I was able to book with no problems. Just worried that when we get there, they'll somehow know and not honor it.

Maybe ask your sis what they have to do when they book. She might be able to call Caesars and see if they need anything special when checking in.

You'll be fine. Vegas is filled with countless people. Caesars is a huge hotel with different towers. The least of their worries is you booking a room at a cheaper rate compared to someone looking online without any connections. I wouldn't be surprised if the block of rooms they have reserved for that conference are the rooms they give out for comps anyway at other times. But yeah as long as you got your confirmation you're good to go.

Ceasars will not care as long as you have the discount code or whatever. Any Vegas hotel is literally giving away hundreds of rooms a day, and there are about a million discounts for them to keep up with. They want you in their casino, shops, restaurants, etc. most of all.

Going tomorrow morning and back on Tuesday.

Anyone know which are the "can't miss" pool parties this weekend?

do you have any preference on music? type of crowd? Each pool party has its own identity and crowd. just want to gauge if you have a certain interest

have fun man. stayed there last year. no complaints.

If you have time I would recommend trying the Bacchanal Buffet there once. Its been the most popular buffet in Vegas for the last year or so.

No real music preference. Younger crowd I would say. Mid to late 20's. Thx

There is a Nobu in Caesar's. Very pricey, but worth it.

I would recommend Encore Beach Club above any other pool parties. Amount of talent for girls is always good and venue is nice. Can't go wrong with this place.

Since you're not coming back til Tuesday, I would say check out XS on sunday night for Nightswim. Basically a nighttime pool party. One of my personal favorites as far as parties in LV.

Have fun man and good luck $

Gonna be in Vegas from the 8th to the 13th - AKA the week e of UFC 200,though I'm not goinggoing. How do I hang out with JJ Watt and other famous people?

Also, the only other time I went we stayed downtown in a cheaper, but nice hotel (Downtown Grand), and got a bus pass to explore the strip when we wanted.

Is it worth it to spend the extra bucks to stay at like the Monte Carlo or something? We're not really going clubbing at all - my main interest would be a decent pool complex. Plus I like the pizza place outside the Monte Carlo, and I found some blackjack I liked there.

    Any advice is appreciated.

Yes it is worth spending a few more bucks a night to stay on the strip. I learned after my first trip about 8 years ago that it is more than worth it.

As far as famous people, you need to hit up the big night clubs. But even then it'll be hard. I've been more than a dozen times, stayed at the Venetian, Aria, Vdara, Signature @ MGM, never saw a single famous person walking around there or on the streets.

If you don't already have one, get the Ceasars property player's card, Total Rewards. It gives you a discount at a lot of the resort's restaurants and whatnot.

Not sure if you plan on renting a car, judging by your question about staying more central I'm guessing not. I rent a car everytime I make a trip now, it's very cheap and it allows you to move around the city at your own pace. If Monte Carlo is where you stay, if you want to hit up Wynn, Palazzo or any of the far north resorts, walking is almost out of the question with the heat you'll get. Renting a car for a day should cost you less than taxi both there and back. Of course if you feel comfortable with the bus pass and traveling a little slower to get to your destination go that route.
Big caveat going the rental route, about 2 weeks ago all MGM properties have instituted paid parking, both for self and valet parking. This to me will keep their stops from getting my money for the foreseeable future.

I haven't stayed at Monte Carlo but the pictures of the pool look good. I can tell you to stay away from both Luxor and Excalibur, they're right there price and location wise but Ex is for kids and families and the pool is accommodating for them. I've been to the pool at Luxor, it went about 3 feet deep and was a terrible experience.
