I will still root for him. Because his odds are very low that he will ever come back so basically its a given this move is AWFUL and the mavs will suck.
didnt the kings give him more? Insane. Its the rise of the 3+D wing. Like the fad of the rimprotecting big and the playmaking 4. Gms are crazy and copycat each other and overpay. Because any time you give so much money and Years to a man with a torn achilles you are crazy.

13 mil a year? That's a huge gamble by the Mavs.

Should have gone to the Kings to pad his stats for an even bigger contract.

    Man, this blows.

For sure DJ is going to the Mavs. Rockets can never catch a break.

Watch, I bet the Mavs get Beverley now too.

    That will cripple the Mavs.

I just hope Harden doesn't b**** and moan throughout the season as he notices his rivals getting these bigger contracts.

Didn't we give him as much money as we possibly could? What does he have to b**** about?

Really risky to sign him for so many years for so much. Who knows if he will come back the same.

That's a lot of $$$ for a guy coming off an achilles injury.

i'm actually scared of the kings turning to some rockets FA's and offering to overpay them just so it doesn't look like they gave all those picks away to clear cap space for nothing.

they will go hard after rondo now for sure... but brewer and josh fit their team very well. Lets hope those guys aren't next on their list.

Yes. My thoughts the same. And esp now that rondo has the lakers all over him they can go also after beverly. If the magic leak that they will match everything for harris this has a high probabillity of happening.

I don't know if I'm as confident as the rest of you that this is a good signing. I'd be very very nervous if the Rockets threw that kind of money at a guy with a torn achilles. He may very well never return to pre-injury form.

If he manages to return to form (in a reasonable amount of time), it's a great signing. If he doesn't, this could be an albatross contract.

Not sure why people are this concerned about signing Wesley Matthews to Dallas. If he or parsons is your best wing player that does sound intimidating at all to me.
