Are there bigger waste of money signings this offseason than Fail Jackson, Dreck Fisher and Melo?

Yeah it is early, you'd expect at least some minor signs of progress give the $ they paid. At least one positive step over the prior regime.

Has Jackson made a positive trade? No, Tyson Chandler is killing it in Dallas while the guys they got in return are not at Chandler's level. Have Jackson and his guy Fisher implemented some "winning culture" and such with zen methods or whatever? Is Melo doing anything more than shooting a bunch?

but I thought the rockets couldn't land a big name free agent and this was surely a sign that the NY front office was better than murray.

Phil Jackson will resign from the Knicks any day now citing whatever. I doubt he finishes this season with the Knicks...

It is Phil Jackson, Derek Fisher and Carmelo Anthony....... seriously, can you think of a more financially motivated GM (Isiah Thomas excluded), a more financially motivated coach, and a more financially motivated star?

This was a money grab from day 1..... Jackson got his, Fisher continues stealing money and Anthony gets to collect pay checks until Jackson and Fisher are fired/leave and Melo can demand a trade out of town.

Kobe is by far the worst.

    $48 mil over two years?

He's playing like a minimum player.

Jackson just has a big name, there is nothing to do with a good GM, Melo is not a winner, if he is, he should join the Bulls or the Rockets, Fisher is too young to be considered to be a good coach either. Knicks would have a great time this year, good luck.

Are there bigger waste of money signings this offseason than Jeff Bower, Ron Jeremy and [Jodie Meeks, Caron Butler, D.J. Augustin, Cartier Martin & Aaron Gray]?

Yeah it is early, you'd expect at least some minor signs of progress give the $ they paid. At least one positive step over the prior regime.

Has Van Gundy made a positive trade? No! Have Van Gundy and his guy Van Gundy implemented some "winning culture" and such? No! Are they getting anything from their $6 million dollar man FA acquisition Jodie Meeks? No!

Ha, in all seriousness, Van Gundy, Scott and Hollins is giving NY a run for their money!

Dead on post. Hiring an unproven PJ as GM was an incredibly dumb move.

Not every winning coach can be like Pat Riley.

    Stan Van Gundy.

Great coach but clueless GM. He was given the keys to the franchise.

Yeah, but the NY guys cost more money-- $210M. $125M for Melo, $25M for Dreck and $60M for Fail.

Their biggest addition signed to address their biggest need, Meeks, hasn't played a minute all season due to injury. The rest of the roster is pretty much the same mess they had last season.

And somehow made it worst!

9-10 last year; 3-16 this year.

Overhauled, undermanned Detroit Pistons equal worst 19-game start in franchise history

Something Kevin McHale would appreciate, they're playing hard! Maybe they need to play just a little harder?

Jackson's best trait is that he is a personality manager and authority figure. This was a recipe for success with the supreme talent he has had on certain teams.

There's not much evidence that he can take a raw team and develop it into something.

SVG also signed Butler and Augustin.

    Both terrible.

Considering the state of the Knicks franchise that Dolan and Isaih left it in its going to probably take at least 2 seasons before the moves that Jackson makes or wants to make start correcting the ship. The Knicks kept mortgaging their future for a mediocre win now team and paying for it now. Much like how the Lakers did (except their win now should have competed for a championship)
