I was ready to close the book on this Ed Reed signing, then my friend said he saw Reed looking at his apartment complex in downtown Houston.

Take that for what it's worth I guess..

He's probably just visiting other teams for the free amenities and meals. You can leave the hustle, but the hustle'll never leave you.

Why not make it next week? Or the week after that? I mean, we can afford to wait, right? It's not like we're letting this keep us from signing other FAs. And anybody else we might be interested in will surely remain unsigned until Reed makes his decision.

With the way the Texans do things I wouldn't be surprised if they have no back up plan. It is Reed or bust.

i was going to say three million. friday night sports talk was saying five million, i'm like his numbers are declining, he is thirty five, and the texans don't have much cap space.

just draft a safety, you aren't winning till schaub is gone anyway

and i agree its embarrassing but its funny how texan fans as well as rocket fans think anyone other than media is paying attention to this nationally, its embarrassing but no one who is a fan of lets say the chiefs as an example who i living in kansas city knows that bob mcnair picked up reed in his private jet

Then your "Chiefs friend" is living under a rock. Cause it was on ESPN, full article and everything:

Most people don't read every story on ESPN, especially if it doesn't pertain to their team. The average Chiefs fan will see the title of article: "Texans meeting with Ed Reed". That's it. Baltimore fans would probably read the article, as would teams of any other team that was seriously pursuing Reed, but beyond that, most people wouldn't. For example, do you read every random article about Kansas City meeting with a prospective free agent?

It was picked up nationally, without a doubt. Saw it on SportsCenter..Schefter talked about how rare it was to send a private jet, and that if you did you were serious about closing the deal.

Tons of national writers on Twitter chimed in about it.

Yep... and it was the Texans who wanted that sort of pub out there.

Doing that, and not closing the deal irks me more than just not signing him.
