    However, the Rockets believe that they too are still in contention for Anthony, a source familiar with their situation told HOOPSWORLD. It is their belief, as well as other teams around the league's belief, that Denver is publicizing the trade rumors in order to get the most out of an Anthony trade. Essentially Nuggets executive vice president of basketball operations Masai Ujiri is making his last call for trade offers.

    Even if we traded for Carmelo, he'd walk at the end of the season. What the #### does this accomplish?

    Why? Melo would make us a playoff team to be slaughtered in the first round and then split to NY. Only way I'd do it now is if they include Nene, he could stick for another year and then signed long term.

    Well, maybe we can get more from NY? I personally just want the Rockets to tank and land a superstar because this team play is getting ridiculous. They always seem like they are RIGHT there and could win any game, but always fail at the end to lose.

    If there is any western conference team that could be in the contention for melo it would be the Rockets. Unfortunately I think Denver is sending Anthony to the East.

    Good point, trade for him now and if we don't make a run by the deadline flip him to NY or even in the offseason for at the very least a HUGE T/E. Still risky and depending on the asking price, may still not be worth it.

    Whatever team makes the highest bid or most attractive offer to Denver, is going to have an opportunity to talk to Melo to try and sell him on the idea of signing with team x before the deal is finalized.

    No, we will not get anthony, face the reality.

    who would've wanted to come to such a soft team? Besides we don't have what Denver want, Picks......

    Let's hope this deal gets done quickly, so that NY doesn't get their hands on anthony.
