I like Parson's game. He isn't the most explosive guy but he has all around game and good length. Parson's will make the team.

I like Parsons. Similar skillset to Gordon Hayward (though a few years older and a shade less athletic). Not sure how much PT he'll see this year though.

Great job by Morey picking up a young asset on the cheap.

I like Chandler Parsons. He's mature for his age, a hard worker, and had some nice games overseas. I'm glad he made the team.

Seems like a big contract for a second rounder that might not be good enough to make the team or earn minutes on the floor.

Yeah, I figured that Parsons would get a Budinger-like contract.

This amounts to a contract a little less than the 30th pick of the draft would get (starting salary of ~$895,000), with the added benefit that his third- and fourth-year options don't need to be picked up a full year in advance like with first rounders. Also, the conditional guarantees (if like Budinger's) allow the Rockets to either waive him without cost or to maybe trade him for salary-matching purposes, with the acquiring team then able to waive him for nothing afterward.

This signing also tells me that either (a) the Rockets just couldn't wait any longer to get Parsons into camp or (b) talks reached an impasse with Dalembert. Unless the Rockets are negotiating a S&T with the Kings using the Battier TPE, the contract Morey can offer him just dropped.

When you say "similar skillset"....I guess you mean "white and around the same height"

Cause that's about the only comparison to draw between their games really.
