Our ball movement sucks and seems predictable then the only play that works for dwight is a freaking alley oop. I like Mchale but jeez we got our butt kicked badly by the Warriors and it's embarrassing.

word on the street is his job is more secure than the white house. premature mean extension. there's absolutely nothing he's done to deserve it. they must not know much about the actual game of basketball, something mchale isnt great at coaching. he's make a good assistant, even lead. perfect as a backup coach, but never the head coach.

Ugh. I was hoping that quote wasn't true, but, I googled it, and it totally is. *barfs* What a load of tripe. It sounds like he's an overprotective, overly-proud parent that's trying to shield his little darling from any sort of criticism and responsibility. We talk about adults like this?

By the way, I think Rudy T. had a bit more recruiting power than McHale with the superstars of that time actively seeking to go to the Rockets. Rudy also had championships. Les must be completely desperate for those times again or going senile to sound like such a doting idiot in that quote.

McHale is a liability and one of the worst coaches in the NBA. He may be a good cheer leader or servile lackey to Morey or a good recruiter but a coach he is not. Most knowledgeable NBA fans know that.

Problem is Morey and Les are invested in him. The guy should have been let go right after that Lillard buzzer beater and that series where rook Stotts absolutely ran circles around the clueless McHale. It's sickening because we are throwing away a truly humungous MVP caliber season by Harden and who knows how many years Dwight has left. Harden is carrying this team and McHale has NOTHING to do with our record. How many super ham efforts has Harden had to give just to get by bottom fodder teams that we should be blowing out inside 3 quarters?

I just hope that the Rockets would fire him at the end of this season despite giving hima a new contract and despite a track record that suggests they will not. Just eat up your losses and look to the future instead of being 1st round knockouts and pretenders for the rest of hsi tenure.

This is exactly why fans are so clueless. Meaningless stats. The whole only shoot jumpers from a certain part of the court. This isn't NBA Jam.

You have to look at HOW the games have been played and the reasons for the wins and losses. The talent overcoming terrible coaching at times or relying on players to get hot and go off way beyond the mean. Outside of Harden being amazing, there is no consistency whatsoever from the players because the gimmick offense is easily exposed once figured out. And now it's requiring herculean efforts from Harden night in and night out, or a rare explosion from Howard just to win games. It's the opposite of ACTUAL SYSTEMS in SA, GS, POR etc. These are the teams that will make moves in the playoffs, and McHale will be caught with his pants down hoping Harden can average 35 8 and 7 with the entire defense zoned in on him. It's pa th etic.

This isn't just a fire McHale th read, this is how we can force a change in Les' mind after the stupid extension he handed. It's the worst decision in rocket history since the mo Taylor contract. Grow a spine, force a change , stop looking at meaningless stats. This gimmick , whether it's by morey or mchale, is not sustainable.

I don't want to lose, but it feels like the Texans all over again. What has to happen to fire Kevin McHale?

Probably have to miss the playoffs .... That might get it done , then again after hearing Les make the statement about not necessarily having to advance (because the West is so tough) that may not do it ....

It is entirely possible they do miss the post season with PHX , NO and OKC all knocking on the door.

The Rockets have gone 10-9 over the last 19 .... continue that pace from here on out leaves you with 49 wins which may not be enough.

Five key games , three against PHX and two against New Orleans. How they fare in those contests will go a long way towards making the playoffs or missing them altogether.

Chokes out James Harden on live television. Short of that, I think he's along for the ride. Hope we hire an offensive minded assistant who can convince Dwight to run pick and rolls.

We will finish better than that.

All these stats and records, and philosophy is a gimmick.

Here's the stats I want to see:

Our defense in games with a +/- margin of 10 points going into final 7 mins
Same as above but against teams above .500
Same as above but against teams that are better than us record wise
Games where we led at the half by a sizable amount but almost lost or lost
Games where we held a sizable but lost or almost lost

These basic practices and advancements in execution will prepare our team better. I fear mchale incompetence, I can't fathom to see Carlisle against him.

    Hahaha.

If Alexander and Morey were unhappy with McHale, they would have let him play out the rest of this year and then not given him another contract.

They definitely would not have signed him to a contract extension only to turn around and fire him a month later.....

McHale leaning on the harden bailout tonight once again, against a team that won't even make the playoffs. Patsies will be happy houston won by 2 but watching the game, the 4th q comeback for phnx, the bone headed decisions, it's exactly what we've come to expect. Consistent below average coaching.

Putting Dorsey in the game when the team was on offense was putrid, I don't mind offense for defense in that situation, but up 1, and Dorsey is on the floor with his 19% FT percentage is just plain stupid.
