Should we try to target Blackmon in the draft?

I am ranting about him in various threads so I will try to keep my ranting locked up in a remote place.

This kid is hyper efficient on offense. He plays at an extremely high level especially for a freshman in NCAA.

The knock on him is he a SG at 6'4".
However he DOES have long arms, athleticism, and ability to play PG.

    17.2 ppg, 5.8-12.7 46%, 2.6-6.0 3PT 44%, 5.4 reb

Currently not on any draft boards. (Probably will have high draft stock by the time of the draft)

Morey, can you guess who I want you to draft?

He will be a player in the league, he can really fill it up. How good will he be? Not sure. Being an IU fan I've watched him closely. There are a couple of young Hoosiers that have caught my eye regarding the next level.

His shot has the effortless look to it that Curry and Daniels have. He has the tools to be a good defender. Long arms and athleticism.

Self bump (sorry, I am still pitching my own lonely thread):

Ohio State plays Indiana again Sunday at 12:30 on CBS.

Last time Indiana won and Blackmon Jr put up better numbers than Russell. Should be fun to watch the rematch.

More self bumping bs, but I still think this player is relevant.

Why are there no videos of James Blackmon passing?

J/K. Young man can shoot. Does he have more than Troy Daniels upside?

Why you think he's not on any draft board? Draftexpress has him 35th on the 2016 draft.

CT, he's good, but I don't think he's ready to contribute on the NBA level imo. I watch every IU game and he just needs more seasoning. That said, would not shock me if he declared for the draft, Indiana has some issues right now.

I still believe he has the potential to be a good pro.

Not in the same league as Russell. Not a PG. Spot-up shooter. Probably could play as a catch-and-shoot guy next to Harden but I don't see the ability to defend the point. I think he's an undersized shooting guard. Wayne Ellington comes to mind.

I see Blackmon as a RGV project. Send him there and pray he can learn to play PG. I think he has very good offensive capabilities and is athletic/long enough to be a descent PG defender. I also really like him because I think he is highly under valued in this draft.

I will admit that Blackmons game has slowed down since the start of the season.

The second round players I want to pursue (barring getting a 7 footer):

    1) Rashad Vaughn
    2) Michael Gbinije
    3) James Blackmon

It is hard to predict how young players will turn out. I just think Blackmon is an extremely low risk high reward prospect.
