I think the likelihood is Stephen A's "source" is from Durant's management group who obviously has a deep financial interest in Durant going to a large market. You ask the agent/management guy if Durant is considering going to LA, they will say - hell ya, I'll make him consider it.

...that being said - I get the frustration by the players. They have been manipulated by agents and handlers for a long time now and in the internet age, when player's public personas are almost as valuable as their skills, they are being publicly manipulated again between the agents and media. If Lebron, Dwight, Deandre, and other star players have done one thing it's recognizing that a star player has a right to make their own choice. Durant is making his own choice and he isn't going to play this silly "my sources say" game because he knows it's his choice and no one else's. You hear this same story time and time again in the public - players saying, "I don't know where the media is getting these closely placed sources because I never said that". I think it's all about players being manipulated by their agents, other agents, other teams, etc. Everyone has a financial interest in these players so you'll see a lot of deception in the narrative. Unfortunately i'ts how the world works but I totally get the frustration by the players - agents will come and go, but no one shoots the ball like KD...

What's disgraceful here though, is Stephen A threatening Durant on air to not make enemies with him because the underlying threat is "I'll hurt your brand" and that's just an unfair hit below the belt.

    See also, Fegan, Dan.

Yes, STEPHEN A SMITH!!!! should temper his comments somewhat. Yes, he wants to maintain what credibility he (thinks he) has (although he's much better in the "sources" regard than Chris "Dips**t" Broussard); and yet the New Yawk bravado is tired, and the "don't f*** with me, KD" attitude might get him put into broadcast wilderness faster than you can say "Bill Simmons".

    He is a clown.
Good for Durant now that he is the editor of Players tribune he has a media outlet that won't change his words, or put lies like SAS the liar does.

Lol I maintain what I said about Stephen A. All this "throw enough crap at the wall and you'll be right" junk is funny. Again I'd like to know what "all this crap is" he doesn't talk about stuff like this often and when he does he isn't wrong like broussard.

Having said that he made it way too personal and it's not that serious. Say you never said you spoke to him or anyone in his camp and you aren't lying. Nothing else needs to be said

He's gonna talk himself off the air and into the ground. He's got the type of mouth to never admit that he's lied so I can see this going on for a couple months until KD's friends and relatives come out and say SAS is full of crap.

I think someone did talk to Stephen A Smith, I don't think he is completely making stuff up. The question is, how close is that person to Durant? Stephen A. just needs to come out and say who the source is. I don't think many insiders are going to want to talk to Stephen A. Smith after his performance on First Take this morning.

I'm so sick of these media clowns thinking they matter, it's all about the athletes these chodes need to stfu. Acting like he knows what kd is going to do better than kd does. Sas should have ignored the ****ing comments and did what he is paid to do, talking ****ing sports with the other moron

Sports Biz Radio called out SAS on Twitter earlier saying he wasn't a real journalist. These guys ESPN employs are just an extension of the social media complex. Just looking for ratings and attention, no real basis to their stories. Even a broken clock is right twice a day so if enough hacks make stuff up one is bound to be right. Broussard saying Dwight was 50/50 when he wasn't or saying Mark Cuban was driving around downtown Houston looking for Deandre Jordan are other examples.

SAS on First Take this morning said if OKC Thunder don't win the title this year, Kevin Durant is likely gone

Why would KD want to drag those used up and always injured players around a court all season

Are you calling SAS a liar? Because you do not want to make an enemy out of him. He'll snoop around your workplace for a few minutes and be able to gather a ton of dirt on you. Trust me, you don't want that. SAS will bring you down. Be afraid.

[rQUOTEr]In an interview on ESPN Radio 710's Mason and Ireland, ESPN's Stephen A. Smith reported that not only Durant but also Westbrook may be changing teams in the near future:

Keep in mind this, one of the biggest reasons, I'm told, that Kevin Durant may have the Lakers at the top of his list, is because the Lakers have been led to believe, by whom specifically I do not know, but the Lakers have been led to believe that it is a very good chance that the following year Russell Westbrook is coming.
