I missed old days NBA. No flop. No hack-a strategy. Players are actually trying to make a basket after faking defender in the air, instead of jump into airborne player for foul.

I agree. It's time to bring that style of game play back with one exception, allow zone defense.

We had one of the worst benches in play-off history. The starters played heavy minutes, and they didn't rest guys like they do now. Also, they were playing Moreyball b4 Moreyball.

Sam cassell coming off the bench is one of the best or the best point ever off the bench

Attended this game with the late, great, Steve McNair (rookie Oiler's QB). Watching the Rockets live winning back to back championships was awesome and having the opportunity to kick it with Steve was just as great.

I feel like the media would have you believe Big shot Rob was just an old guy slinging clutch 3's - mainly as a Laker.

These 4 games remind me of the guy that did pretty much everything well. Special defender. Great outside shot. Nice court vision.

Was a little awkward going to the basket, but that's just nit picking.

I almost forgot he was so athletic in his younger days. In just 5 years time from those Finals he was primarily a guy that camped at the 3 on offense or did some post defending. But nothing as electric as that sort of shot blocking and rebounding or dunking.

Penny was a great player. Mind you this was his 2nd year in the league and he a dominant point guard in the NBA finals.
I wished the video quality was better on this.

    Penny was an amazing player.

He had to face the two face monster of Kenny/Sam which proved too much for the Magic.

nbatv has reruns of these games in better quality.

I remember a quote from Hakeem in a Slam interview saying that Robert Horry was the best basketball player he'd ever seen.

Used to play with Rob at the gym and for a 43 year old (at the time) he can still do some things. He was playing ones with a former college player (he told me he's 6'8"), threw the ball off the backboard with his right hand from the right elbow, cut left and caught the ball with his left hand then dunked it on the defender. And that was game!

Just watched Game 1...Nick the Brick, you the real MVP.

    ...but not really.

Crazy that Kenny banged 7 threes and hit the clutch one to force OT. Then sat on the pine for the best part of game 2 while Sammy made play after play after play.

It's no wonder we swept their arses.
