Best comment on Deadspin: "On the plus side, we’ll actually get to SEE the hard hat and lunchpail JJ Watt shows up with everyday."
Should be good. Hopefully we can catch up to the Cowboys in the glitz and glamour department with this show.
Not a chance in hell for that to happen. The Texans have nowhere NEAR the soap opera drama of the Dallas Cowboys. When you consider that the Cows: 1) Signed a documented POS bipolar woman-beater 2) Drafted a bipolar, doobie loving D lineman 3) Previously had on the roster ( before he "retired") a guy with multiple DUIs who actually killed his best friend 4) Has Jerry Jones as an owner - a guy who'd make PT Barnum blush While the Texans have: 1) JJ Watt 2) Two guys named Herb vying to be the starting QB 3) Bob McNair as an owner - a guy more anonymous that Mr. Magoo 4) JJ Watt It's no contest who gets the most publicity. The Cows are the NFL version of a TV reality show while the Texans are actually trying to become a successful NFL team.
Bill O'Brien will be awesome. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/pClVVwmQBUI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Go to 34 minutes.
I just heard a bit of the press conference, but a couple times people asked Bob McNair about BOB's reaction to being on the show. The way he dodged it, BOB was not fond to the idea initially. He may have warmed up, but I'm pretty sure he had to be heavily sold.
I'm pumped. My favorite show of the summer. My wife may actually watch it this time too, for the JJ factor.
I have a feeling panties across the nation are going to be getting wet every week while this shows airs covering JJ. Especially if they get many shots of him in various states of undress pre or post practice or game.
Bad move. Create more Texans hate nationally. JJ WAtt gets plenty of press already. Don't know what McNair is thinking.
They didn't volunteer for the show. Every team is given the opportunity to volunteer but nobody ever does. The League/Show chose the Texans and the Texans couldn't opt out (some teams can).
That's not entirely true. The NFL can madate, yes - but they'd prefer a team volunteer; they don't like forcing teams to do it (makes for bad TV). Every indication is that the Texans volunteered, that McNair has wanted this for several years (Kubiak reportedly talked him out of it a few years ago). The early word is that the Browns were the NFL's preferred choice this year but they said no. Again, the "no" isn't necessarily final but the NFL tries to accomodate their teams, and Cleveland didn't want Manzel exposed to the increased scrutiny.
If I were to list, let's see - I don't want to exaggerate..... 1,000,000,000,000 priorities for the 2015 Texans, I'm confident catching up to the Cowboys' "glitz and glamour" wouldn't make the list. I ask this a lot in this forum but... who cares?? Glitz and glamour???......... Seriously?
Mr. Brightside might be my favorite poster. Bringing level headed and logical truth bombs in every thread he visits.
