What Myles Turner is doing in the NBA is yet another example of how he was misused by Barnes. I always knew he had more potential in him than shown last season at Texas.
Yeah its pretty clear Barnes wasn't getting the most out of Lammert, Ibeh, Taylor etc... Shaka has given a much needed shot of energy to the program. If we get Ridley back we could be special this year.
When this coach is hired, I knew it would be a good move, but I did not expect the team would be that good so quickly. So much ball movement on the offensive end with new coach, this team is fun to be followed, but UT football head coach just sucks as I predicted. I do not think they will be very good this year either.
Solid win against Texas Tech. Now another tough week comes up. @ #1 OU on Monday and then Aimes, Iowa for #13 Iowa St. next Saturday. If they can get one of those, that would go a long ways to securing a pretty decent seed in the tournament.
It would not surprise me if they got both of them the way this team has been playing. Playing sound basketball and with a floor general like Zay handling the rock turnovers are kept to a minimal. Its fun to watch this team right now
it's a credit to Shaka and the staff for getting these guys to buy into his system early... they are playing very aggressive defense... the 1 3 1 press is working very well
I keep imagining how amazing this team would be if we still had Myles Turner, but he did the right thing getting the hell away from Barnes.
Buddy got a lot of superstar calls down the stretch hellava game tho fun to watch... I hear alot of ppl comparing Ibeh to Deandre Jordan & him being a potential 2nd rounder when the previous years he looked so lost on he court what Shaka has done to these guys confidence is amazing
Taylor jacking up that three with about 2 mins remaining was a very poor decision and perhaps the worst offensive possession of the game. Yancy should have been on Hield as much as possible down the stretch instead of Davis, Felix (especially), etc. The offensive foul called on Taylor was atrocious, but it doesn't matter because Hield would have won the game anyway by hitting that 3. Let's get revenge in a few weeks at the Drum. The team looks great and continues to improve. It would be incredible to get Ridley back for the conference tournament and March.
I would love to see that Niang kid from Iowa St in a Rockets uniform. Seems like the perfect stretch forward
Taylor had a great game and Davis finally balled. Watching this team under Shaka...looking like a genius hire. The press, the D, the low turnovers. He's gonna be an NBA coach one day, my body is ready just knows.
