Do you know how many Spurs players on the 2011 team were part of their championship team last year? Five. That's it. George Hill Richard Jefferson DeJuan Blair Gary Neal Matt Bonner Antonio McDyess James Anderson Chris Quinn Steve Novak Ime Udoka All gone. 3 years. 67% roster turnover rate. Kept Duncan, Manu, Parker, Splitter, and Green(whom they once cut and re-signed later) Breaking News! EVERY team in the NBA let go of their players.
Jordan Hamilton was not serviceable. He was a freaking scrub. He couldn't even beat out CASSPI and CISCO for solid minutes. Jordan Hill BECAME serviceable after a few years. We didn't have the time or luxury to develop a very raw player into a serviceable one. We didn't "flip" Lowry. We traded him for a pick vital to getting Harden, because HE wanted out. Not sure why you mentioned him at all. Dragic was also not flipped. He signed a contract elsewhere, because Morey made the correct decision at the time to not give him a player's option and potentially hamper our ability to build a core foundation to build up a team. You don't build a "basketball team" with worthless garbage like Hamilton. If you want to root for such a team, head on over to the TWolves.
You forgot one thing thought, the Spurs never tried to sign any of the above mentioned players back. While of the other hand, please take a look at the Rockets....
daam it! was nice to have someone with jordan AND hamilton in their name. once in a lifetime. raptors are lucky...raps in 4
I remember I still didn't think dude was any good compared to the other back ups and I got trashed. Fast forward a couple months now and no one cares about dude. Smh.
I thought Hamilton was a great addition after his 1st few games as a Rocket. However, he never matched that performance the rest of the year. So his signing with the Raptors is no big deal. And baubo, the Spurs also kept Bonnor from the 2011 team.
Based on past experience with ex-Rockets scrubs, this guy is gonna score 30+ against us in a regular season game.
And who is that? I already know Hamilton wasn't very good in Denver either, I am just curious what dream scenario did you have that would have brought in a good shooter for Brooks. It seems that most GMs do not value Brooks as much as you do.
