I thought it was best place to get quality audio high, and I was going to say a record store.

Since you already have all the music (on CD?) that you'd like to have in high quality, wouldn't it make sense to just rip it onto your hard drive using an uncompressed file type like FLAC or WAV? Also, the file sizes will be huge with high quality uncompressed audio. That could be a barrier when trying to take them mobile.

If I cannot find all the tracks I want, that is what I will eventaully have to do. I was hoping to save time by simply re-buying them.

I was looking at the Pono Music player that CometsWin linked to. I like that it has 64Gb of on-board memory and 64GBs in swappable ones. So if I need more space, I can simply get more mem cards.

in addition to hdtracks, look at super hi res from acoustic sounds:

    also, hiresaudio:

    http://www.highresaudio.com/

    and my favorite, qobuz:

    http://www.qobuz.com/fr-fr/

the latter is in french, but there's a translate option, and in addition to Studio Master 24/96 downloads, they have a 16/44 streaming service.

it's geo limited, however, if you register, then write them a nice note and ask for your account to be enbled for hi res, even though you might live outside the zone, they've been known to accommodate. it's well worth it, and changed the way i discover music.

there are some good recommendations here:

and lot's of great suggestions here:

If you torrent, both Waffles and especially What.CD have large FLAC collections, but you have to seed back what you download which means you'll have to leave Utorrent open a lot to seed it back.
