I wonder if Papanikilaou regrets signing with the Rockets now. He knew the way the second year of his contract was structured made being waived a distinct possibility, but still. Had he stayed in Europe, he would have made about the same money or a little less, but with more long-term security and stable playing time. Same goes for Dorsey, too. Lull's got to be watching all this, and it may place a seed of doubt in him as to whether making the NBA jump is really worth it. Just a thought.
Pap didn't lose any money going to the NBA the same offers will still be available to him in Europe. Morewy was blowing hot air about Dorsey. He wasn't all that & teams over there knew his rep. He had a habit of skipping practices. I doubt the contracts offer in Europe were there anyway.
Papabricknfoul. Nah he's headed back to Greece. No one is going to give him such a large contract again. But hey, he will have no regrets about attempting to play in the NBA and he made enough cheerleading for us to last a lifetime in Greece.
Why would he regret it? He made more money, got a shot in the NBA, and can always go back to Europe. There is nothing to regret.

I was under the impression it ends up being even because he had to pay for the buyout to allow him to go to the US. Also, if he had stayed in Europe, he may have gotten a longer, more secure contract with a team he felt comfortable with and played a significant role for. Now, instead, he got what amounts to a one year deal, and unless he decides to head back to Europe, he's scrounging for best available with whatever team will take him. Not that I feel sorry for him. Like I said, he had to know what he was getting into.
He knew what was going to happen when he signed a contract with a non guaranteed second year. That or he should fire his manager.
Geez, it was his rookie year, he has to adjust, you guys act like se stunk, he was pretty decent at times, just needs to go somewhere that he can get time to play. DD
His only regret should be if he gives up now. He still has a chance to land somewhere before the off-season dust settles.
Seriously. He was a decent player. And his fg% that people bring up was bad for 2 reasons. 1. He got off to a slow start... which was to be expected considering he was playing in Europe before. 2. Most of the shots he took were 3-pointers. Because he was mostly shooting 3's, of course his overall fg% would be low. He's good enough to play in the league.

If or when he is waived he will land somewhere. Morey doesn't let his former players not "land" somewhere.
Good point, but don't overlook the fact that a rebuilding team with poor management would rather have a young prospect with a high ceiling rather than a euro player who could contribute, but doesn't really add anything to your future because he's already peaked. Don't get me wrong, I dont think PapSmear will get signed by an nba squad this year, but it's more of a product of circumstances rather than him just not being good enough to make and contribute to an nba team
