They're also assuming Beasly can make it through a season relatively healthy.

Who does bruin have naked pictures of? Seriously...how bad do you have to be to get cut from this team.

Notice the tear Giles Barnes went on down the stretch last season without the burden of playing next to Bruin too. Everyone is better off with him off the field

I'm glad Ashe wasn't picked. Anyone know if any of our players are eligible for the Waiver Draft later today? Or if there's anyone we could possibly pick up in that draft, since the Dynamo pick 5th?

It looks like the Waiver Draft isn't really a draft. The first 3 teams picked up someone, every other team passed. I guess it's just a one-time, offseason waiver wire and every eligible player who isn't "drafted" becomes a free agent.

The Mexican national team striker has had his club future in limbo since the dismantling of Chivas USA, but Houston is now the frontrunner for his services.

Mexican national team striker Erick 'Cubo' Torres appears closer and closer to returning to Major League Soccer in 2015, though the team he will be playing for could come as a bit of a surprise.

The Houston Dynamo have emerged as the frontrunner to secure the services of Torres after the LA Galaxy and Seattle Sounders passed on the chance to acquire the 21-year-old from Chivas Guadalajara, sources have confirmed to Goal USA.

The Dynamo have stepped up to meet the $7.5 million asking price for Torres, who joined Chivas USA on a loan with an option to buy prior to the 2014 MLS season. MLS has delayed in pulling the trigger on that purchase option until a suitable buyer could be secured. One team that had been believed to be a possibility, the Chicago Fire, went in another direction with their designated player plans, leaving the Dynamo as the best bet to land Torres.

MLS is working to finalize the full transfer, and part of the deal could see Torres play for Liga MX side Chivas Guadalajara in exchange for the lowering of the $7.5 million purchase option, sources confirmed to Goal USA. Chivas Guadalajara is in danger of being relegated from Liga MX if it has a poor spring season and Torres could be just the type of player to help the struggling club turn things around before returning to MLS in the spring or summer.

In club limbo after Chivas USA was disbanded following the 2014 MLS season, Torres has emerged as one of the best young talents in MLS, if not all of CONCACAF, after a stellar 2014 MLS season earned him his first call-ups to the Mexican national team. He also won the Golden Boot at the Central American and Caribbean Games, where he starred for an underage El Tri side.

Things have turned in the past 6 months, nice to see the team spend money. Hard to compete against bigger clubs without it, MLS is quickly turning into the MLB model.

After finishing as one of the top scorers in MLS in 2014, Mexican national team forward Erick "El Cubo" Torres is staying in MLS, joining the Houston Dynamo as a Designated Player on a five-year deal, according to the club.

Following the expiration of his loan deal at the end of the 2014 season, MLS came to an agreement to acquire Torres on a permanent basis from Chivas Guadalajara. The league then approached all 20 MLS clubs with the financial terms and the Dynamo were the only team interested in Torres that was also ready to meet the transfer arrangements and player salary.

"I’m extremely excited to be joining the Houston Dynamo. It’s one of the premier clubs in MLS and a place where I really wanted to sign,” Torres said in a club statement. “I can’t wait to join my teammates in Houston and continue their success on the field."

Torres will join the Dynamo after a six-month loan to Chivas Guadalajara that was negotiated as part of the transfer deal. The loan will see Torres spend "up to six months" in Liga MX, according to the team release.

"We are delighted to sign a such a talented young player with the scope and potential to improve further,” new Dynamo head coach Owen Coyle said in the same club statement. “For me, he is an outstanding player who does the toughest thing in soccer with ease, and that is to score goals. I look forward to working with him and helping to make him even better."

The 21-year-old Torres scored 15 goals in 29 matches for Chivas USA in 2014, tied for 7th on the MLS goal-scoring charts. His 22 total goals in MLS since joining the league in 2013 are the most goals ever by a Mexican-born player in league history.

Torres' MLS performances led to his Mexican national team debut against Bolivia in September and he scored his first goal for El Tri against Panama in October.

Mexico boss Miguel Herrera has publicly stated that the long-time Mexican youth international will be part of his plans in 2015 as El Tri competes for the 2015 Gold Cup and 2015 Copa America.

Torres recently scored another five goals in four appearances for Mexico's Under-21 team in the 2014 Central American and Caribbean Games, where El Tri won gold in November.

Hope it's not another LANDíN.

He might be younger and faster and all that, but the Dynamo need to sign more midfielders who help Davis keep the ball... not forwards who can't get the ball. Anyway, I hope this is a good signing.
