They have that entire field across from NRG! They should just set up shop there.

Do you know what that guy is actually doing?

Properly maintained means brushing the field and redistributing the infill probably twice a season. It's not a big operational process.

If the players and coaches want a change.... there will be a change.

Funny how you also showcase the two most regressing (former PED using) players on the team (factoring in their big contracts) as the ones having problems keeping their footing.

^^ really? what does regression or past PED use have to do with a crap field.

At halftime it was comical seeing those guys go out there and throw sand into all the divots that were created in the first half.

A lot of times when you have your feet wrapped you slip more. Also, grass is slick. Did you ever play ball?

This is really silly. Again, I' not saying that the field is great but guys slip all across the league unless they are playing on fake grass.

I'm guessing they put in turf in the offseason.

So is it a thing now for players to complain about field surfaces?

Only really poor, dangerous surfaces like the one in Reliant.

    They're 8' x 8'.

I'm fairly certain it's a bit more sophisticated than a bunch of dirt and grass thrown on top of shipping pallets they found outside of the local Walmart.

Yes, much more sophisticated than that... it's dirt and grass thrown on top of oversized plastic bread trays.

i don't care how you slice it, seams are not natural. so saying we have a natural playing surface is wrong.

Take it easy.....this board apparently has a lot of people employed as groundskeepers by the Texans that will take offense to that comment. The surface is 100% natural and is perfect in every way. If you don't believe them, they'll post 4 year old unscientific poll to definitively prove that they are doing an amazing job putting the field together.

Not sure anybody is taking that strawman viewpoint.... But I'll believe polls of NFL players over any anecdotal random injury that happens to occur on this field (the same random injuries that occur everywhere... In a sport chalk full of non-contact injuries).

Again, if the players and coaches want a change, there will be a change. Apparently they still favor "this" over artificial turf.
