People think that our defense would improve with Ariza as well as having Dwight and Bev, and with the pickup of Josh Smith. That this defense would make up for the sudden drop in offensive output. Well, it did for a while, but now it's exposed, and we're now faced with the reality that we need more ways to score since our defense has not lived up to its promise.
What happened in Detroit is simply because Andre Drummond and Josh Smith cannot play together. They both cannot shoot whatsoever. Having them on the floor at the same time was not conducive to developing Drummond and their other young guys. I seriously doubt their success is directly affiliated with the departure of Smith. Put simply, he's not that big of a factor for a team to make THAT kind of turn around. More than likely it was just the general locker room change that gave them a spark. However, Josh had NO reason to be upset with that particular play that he was ejected after. It didn't look like a foul, and certainly wasn't any kind of egregious miss by the officials. It was clearly a reaction to the questionable calls/lack thereof earlier in the game.
I can both agree with that statement and also say that it is off topic/not about Josh Smith. Your comment is more about Dwight, not so much Josh Smith. Also, I'm not so sure the statement that our defense has been exposed is true. Who exposed it? GSW shredded us in large part due to fast breaks off of turnovers. And can you show statistics of a drop. ppl are making too big of a deal about the first 10 games of the season, when we went 9-1. That schedule was putty.
Josh isn't the biggest problem at this point (it is Dwight) but he has been a fairly large problem most games. He takes terrible shots, plays inconsistent defense where he is lazy much of the time, and is just declining all around. Replace him with Jones and this team gets better, we won't be going anywhere though unless Dwight gets his **** together.
