Remember, no PBP in these threads and keep the chatter on topic (if it is about something other than this series, talk about it in another thread). 5-12 Felipe Paulino, RHP (1-2, 5.23) vs. Ubaldo Jimenez, RHP (2-4, 5.45) 7:40 on FSN 5-13 Mike Hampton, LHP (1-3, 4.91) vs. Jason Marquis, RHP (4-2, 3.92) 7:40 on FSN 5-14 Wandy Rodriguez, LHP (3-2, 1.80) vs. Jason Hammel, RHP (0-1, 5.40) 2:10 on FSN
Hmm. I can foresee another series win with this one. There are some wildcards such as Paulino's return to the rotation (although why is the guy so bad in the bullpen? it doesn't make sense) and hopefully that goes well. Hampton's pitching is sub-par but he's pitched in Colorado before, so maybe that'll help him get back on track. Then the future NL Cy Young winner will pitch in the finale. I like our chances.
Astros are so unpredictable.. WLW I like to see Paulino starting. He does not work out as a reliever.
"Some things are better left unexplained." I meant to say.... Paulino is definitely better suited as a starter.
At least we got to go to bed at a decent time. This was the first game since the playoffs started that I got to bed before midnight.
When Backe comes back, who goes.......Paulino to the minors or Ortiz going home? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Backe rehab continues Righthander Brandon Backe, who has been on the disabled list with a strained rib-cage muscle, remains on track after pitching six scoreless innings Friday in a rehab start for Class AA Corpus Christi. Backe said he is pain free and is concentrating on reaching the 100-pitch threshold to get his arm in condition. He threw 82 on Friday for the Hooks. “It’s more or less like I’m in spring training again trying to build my arm up to 100 pitches,” he said. “It’s a slow process.”
