all i know is hes doing wonders for my fantasy league...other than that, idk much about him because i've never seen him play.
He's acually making it not so bad that they lost Bonzi. He had the breakaway lay up to beat the Spurs in the game (or one of the games) when Sacto beat the Spurs in the 1st Round this past playoffs. Doesn't offer much statistically, just points. Not a great defender, but, that's what Ron Ron is there for. Also, if you ask me, he looks painfully skinny. I enjoy watching the guy play. He also has a quirky shot. Everytime he shoots, I look and say "how did that just go in?"
All I care about is that I read he would be a good sleeper pick, and I picked him. I don't think he's a fluke because his numbers and %s were good during limited playing time last year, and now that he's getting more minutes, he's proving his worth. He might have been my best pick, so I hope he keeps it up.
I wish I had picked him up for my fantasy team. To me, he came out of nowhere. Then again, I have Lebron, Dirk and Yao on it, so I'm pretty happy with that already.
I always felt this guy had talent coming out of college and now he's finally getting an oppurtunity to shine (saw flashes last year) as a go to guy with Bonzi gone and Brad Miller injured. His 23 ppg are not a fluke but I do expect it to dip a bit I can see him averaging 18ppg easily for the year. He doesn't have spectacular athleticsm but he's a smart player, good decision maker, has a nice stroke and plays solid D.
His stats are a bit flukish and he'll wear down pretty quick having not played much and trying to guard other team's 2s and 3s. Playing between Bibby and Artest helps you, but not that much.
During the last game they mentioned that among a poll taken by GMs Martin was voted most improved or most likely to emerge this year or something along those lines.
I don't think he's a fluke. Towards the end of last season and during the playoffs, he was phenomenal. He, as much as Bonzi, was responsible for making that Spurs-Kings series as competitive as it was. I fully expected him to have a breakout year this season, so I'm not surprised....if I were playing fantasy basketball I'd have snatched him up early.
Martin is the quickest two guard in the league right now and he can shoot really well even with that quirky shot of his.
I was watching some preview show, I forgot, and I think someone picked him to have a breakout year, sorry I don't remember who. he's a nice player. good two.
My draft was this: Det The Threat 1 LeBron James (1) 2 Jason Kidd (20) 3 Jermaine O'Neal (21) 4 Rasheed Wallace (40) 5 Predrag Stojakovic (41) 6 Jason Terry (60) 7 Andre Iguodala (61) 8 Larry Hughes (80) 9 Shane Battier (81) 10 Kyle Korver (100) 11 Cuttino Mobley (101) 12 Brendan Haywood (120) I then traded Kidd and Rasheed for Yao and Shaq (guy really wanted to get rid of Shaq, who went in the 7th round...). Afterwards, I traded J. O'Neal, Iguodala and Hughes for Dirk and Tinsley. Two minor trades afterwards: Shaq for TJ Ford and Peja for Gerald Wallace. Which leads me to my current team: PG T. Ford SG G. Wallace SF L. James PF D. Nowitzki C Y. Ming G J. Terry F U. Haslem (picked up from waivers) Util K. Korver Util C. Mobley Util S. Battier B J. Tinsley B M. Ellis (picked up from waivers) B S. Jackson (picked up from waivers) I liiiiiiike.
Nope. I remember thinking, during the 2004 preseason, that this guy was something special. I wrote all last year that he deserved more minutes, and when he got them he shot the lights out. Check out his shooting numbers from last year, compared to this year, and reconsider your post.
