I can't tell from his tone what he thinks. I could imagine his response was partly like it was because he is kind of baffled that he has spent so much time on this for so long and is only just now being asked about it...or maybe he answered the way he did because he knows the video is that bad. Kind of ambiguous.

I am a little behind on this story.. What exactly happened? I understand a video is supposedly going to be released that damages his image and there are questions as to whether or not the video actually exists. Is everything just speculation or is there any proof of this actually being real?

This is yet another ridiculous story by what has become a laughable profession.

That doesn't mean that charges won't be filed if the video contains evidence of an assault by a perpetrator the police can identify barring whatever the statute of limitations is. If video evidence shows it's Bryant then he's going to be in trouble with the NFL.

I really hate sports media today. Trying to out-scoop each other on a story that doesn't even exist.

Well it doesn't matter if it happened 4 years ago...like someone robbing or assaulting someone 4 years ago doesn't mean they can get away with it. The person still needs to be punished if indeed that is what happened.

If that Ray Rice video didn't come out for another three years for some reason...would it have made his actions any less horrific?

    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...al-mart-incident-report-involving-dez-bryant/

When a police officer responded, a Wal-Mart security guard explained that he arrived at the scene with the door to the Mercedes still open and a child’s toy on the ground, but that no one was present. Then, two men pulled up in an Escalade registered to Dez Bryant. The two men, Carl King and Christopher Mitchell, said they received a call from the alleged victim, asking them to pick up “her” Mercedes.

Then, a Bentley arrived in the parking lot, with the alleged victim and Dez Bryant inside. The alleged victim claimed that she had an argument with a man named Alex Penson, that she was not assaulted or injured in any way, and that it was “just an argument” with Penson. The alleged victim claimed she was dropped off at a friend’s house, and that she contacted Bryant to pick her up.

The responding officer determined after talking to all parties that there was no offense, and that everyone was free to go.

The report doesn’t mention the availability of Wal-Mart surveillance video, or the contents of it. Instead, it appears that the responding officer accepted the version(s) supplied by King, Mitchell, Bryant, and the alleged victim, and closed the case.

Most if not all Wal-Mart stores have surveillance cameras blanketing the property. Indeed, the longstanding rumor making the rounds among NFL reporters has been not just that an incident occurred at a Wal-Mart parking lot, but that there is video of it.

In digesting the report, keep this in mind: The report makes no mention of the car to which the victim was allegedly dragged. The video may show the other car. The video may show the person doing the dragging, if dragging actually happened. The video may show whatever preceded the dragging of the woman from “her” Mercedes to another car. The video may show the other car driving away.

Eventually, the video is coming out. In the interim, Bryant, Carl King, Christopher Mitchell, Alex Penson (whoever he is), and the alleged victim can expect to be pursued by members of the media for more details regarding what did and didn’t happen in that Wal-Mart parking lot.

The people doubting this story are being very naïve/cowboy homers. Wouldn't you think Dez would have come out and said something about this if he didn't do something illegal/bad for his reputation? Granted this could be a PR deal by the Cowboys or his former agents to make him look bad, who knows. For people to make claims like, "oh it was 4 years ago" and "no police report was filed", who cares when it was and if a police report was filed. If something illegal was caught on tape it needs to be shown and consequences handed down whether by the league and/or the criminal justice system assuming it is clear enough to prosecute.

If there is a video, it needs to be seen not to mention that the responding officer should have tried to find a surveillance video as the whole thing seemed shady to begin with. This screams of some sort of cover up and Dez's silence is deafening saying he's been "betrayed". He's only been "betrayed" if he has done something wrong and is blaming others for problems he created either by his choices or the people he surrounds himself with.

As Florio says, the tape will come out eventually so we will see then, so be careful with who or what you are defending. Dez can put this to rest easily if he truly was helping the woman out but my guess is he was there when this happened. Florio gives several examples of what may have happened so I am taking this serious until proven otherwise.

By not jumping to conclusions = Naive/Cowboys fan/Dez cheerleader, or questioning the legitimacy of a rumor and a videotape held by an unknown party/associates that no one has seen, which is allegedly Wal-Mart surveillance footage. Yeah, I would convict someone over that.

this has a very roger clemens/briam mcnamee feel to it. an incident occurred four years ago, and the tape just now surfaces? i would be surprised if the video still exists on walmart security servers this long after the incident. unless someone has been purposefully holding the tape back until the right moment, i would expect most security footage from july of 2011 to have been overwritten by now.
