Alejandro Pérez: "Scola will return to the Rockets next season"

I like Scola. He can make FTs and jump shots

Alejandro Pérez, a specialized and increasingly well positioned journalist from Argentina has dropped the rumor of a possible return of Luis Scola to the Houston Rockets. Asked about this, Jonathan Feigen of chron.com has left us this morning some pretty interesting statements on a local radio station in Houston.

"We all know Kevin McHale loves the spirit and enthusiasm of Scola, they are looking to meet and when I say they are, I mean that Luis has the best memories of his career in Houston and once said he would retire with this jersey".

It never says "Scola will return to the Rockets next season"...

If they trade jones or don't re-sign smith then it makes perfect sense to bring him back.

 

Yea, and you know this how? Gotta love random CFers that act like they have more inside information than the team writers and people close to the organization.

 

But the coach is MacHale not u

 

Is he a free agent? Would love to see him on the team and move either DMO or Jones for a quality PG. He could provide the same numbers of DMO and Jones around 10-12pts and 5-6 boards and he's a hustle guy with heart. Also not very injury prone even at his ripe old age and he'd be the only PF who could knock down a mid range jumper.

when we trade jones, 18, papa, and prigs for lawson, then use the MLE on smith, and sign scola to the vet min...

but when dwight goes down for half a season:

Yes, he is a UFA, and I think he could be a very good mentor to Jones and D-Mo.
He happens to be D-Mo's favorite player. It would be great to see Luis ending his career as a Houston Rocket.

 

No surprise. Scola fits with the team's need for a player who plays hard.

 

I'm good with that as long as Smith doesn't shoot us out of games.

I'm good with DMo getting some serious burn. Still young. Hopefully he comes back stronger than before his injury which I doubt he will.

 

Saleem I love how Scola plays, he would be huge shot in the arm for this team coming off the bench cuz you know what your going to get. He's a decent free throw shooter, he's got a good BBIQ, great mid range jumper, decent rebounder but not great, total team guy who doesn't need the ball, not a great athlete though and he's a grizzled veteran. Whats not to like, the rockets time is now.
