    Well deserved for Myers.

I don't know why people are complaining about Ainge. Doesn't he have 9 1st round picks in the coming years? Dude singlehandedly ruined the Mavs with that trade and everyone was laughing at how he got so little.

If McHale only has a good record because of Harden according to the fans, then why doesn't that go for Morey as well?

I think of all the playoff teams the Rockets had the highest roster turnover, yet they found themselves to be 2nd in the West.

We kept these 5 players from last year:
    Dwight
    James
    Patrick
    Donatas
    Terrence

What is shocking is that there is not one 1st place vote. Also you know that Morey is the one that voted for Sam Hinkie...

well hiring kerr was kind of a big deal when all their star players wanted jackson to stay. also when everyone else (including this board) thought kerr was going to flop.

also everyones forgetting NOT trading Klay for Love turned out to be huge. everyone also thought that was a big mistake.

plus they revamped their bench. by getting livingston and barbosa, who are key rotation guys.

Morey should have been in the top 3 at least

Morey is probably getting judged harshly for Bosh backflipping at the 11th hour. Which is crazy, because that is nothing to do with Morey.

The moves he made following the Bosh decision have been excellent. Refuse to match a crazy deal, pickup Ariza, Smith, Brewer. And is Capela not some kind of win as a draft pick? If you can get a guy to play meaningful playoff minutes, at a touch position, in his rookie year, then surely that was a nice pick?

    We can only hope.

The disrespect for the Rockets is apparent and it's not just fans and media. Voters on this award are other GMs.

Only logical conclusion (besides "hatin") is McHale's extention hurt Morey's rep.

You don't get points for making moves and having lots of roster turnover. You get points for improving your team - GS, Atlanta, and Cleveland all did so dramatically. The Rockets netted 2 more wins. Injuries were obviously a significant factor that was probably not considered as much as it should have been, but even if the Rockets won 5 or 6 more games, their improvement from last year was still not anywhere near the top 3 teams in the list.

Yes. How can we forget the man who gifted the Mavs cancer? I bet Morey is the one who voted for Ainge as gratitude.

DMorey has acquired the most talent in the last few months, but Bob has certainly built a STACKED GSW team in the last year and a half. Same thing with the Cavs GM except somebody made his job easy

He pretty much is. But everyone hates him so he'll never get votes. This is a total popularity contest and Morey is envied all across the universe.

The Rockets' "improvement" vaulted them to 2nd seed, how much more improvement do you want? I also don't understand your bolded statement, turnover and moves are what GMs do if your team improved and you didn't do anything why the **** should you get the credit? It's likely the wins are due to some other factor like coaching, internal improvement or in Cleveland's case LBJ decided to go home. In the case of Griffin he was just hired this year so he couldn't even get credit for past years like GSW.

Griffin is a prime example of who SHOULDN'T win the exec of the year, he sat on his ass and Lebron did all the work, in fact Griffin made a horrible move and traded future superstar Wiggins for oft-injured Kevin Love...who sucked and all season and long and as expected got injured again once he started producing in the playoffs. I said it before but there was no market for Love, if he just offered Waiters and a pick Minny wouldn't have a choice, instead he goes the EZ dumbass route and gives away someone who could've carried the torch in the 5 years.

    My personal list:

    1) Minny (got major building block Wiggins for a guy who said he was gonna leave no matter what). I personally think Celts and Maury are better overall but he gets props for this major move. LA got Caron Butler and Lamar Odom for prime Shaq, Memphis got Kwame Brown and (unknown) Marc Gasol for prime Pau Gasol, Minny got Wiggns for Kevin Love.

2)Boston. Boston just straight up bamboozled Cubes and got a ton of assets for Rondo. They don't have a building block yet but with the assets they have I can easily see them swinging a deal to move up in the draft.

    3) Houston-acquisitions of Brewer, Ariza and Smith. Nuff said.

    4) GSW. Hiring of coach Kerr isn't his call, it was the owner who did it. GSW's moves weren't made this year, they were made the past few years, IMHO the most significant was when they refused to trade Klay Thompson for somebody else (kobe?), taking a chance on Bogut as well as getting Iggy...and drafting Draymond Green. So really if they were gonna give this award to GSW they should've done it the previous years not this one. But it's typical, the executive award is made by people who are always behind the curve.
