Eddy Curry 6-11 280 C Thornwood (South Holland, IL)

"Eddy has been given the knickname "Baby Shaq" because of his likeness to Shaquille O'Neal and the power he exhibits with his style of play. Eddy has a super combination of size, strength, and agility. His story is similar to Tim Duncan's in that basketball was his second sport of choice and he didn't pick the game up until he was already a teenager. While Tim was a swimmer, Eddy started out as a gymnast. After growing to over 6 and a half feet, it became apparent to Eddy that basketball may be the sport he was meant to play. Eddy dropped the tights for a pair of shorts and a tank top and he now dwarfs nearly every opponent he faces. What is most intriguing about him is how untapped his talent really is. He is just learning the game and with another year or two of getting familiar with basketball, he may take the world by storm!"

Tyson Chandler would fit well with this team. Or, Disagana Diop ????

The latest on Curry's weight is 305 I believe.

The way it's looking, we'll be able to grab Terrence Morris with the Milwaukee pick, which will be good, and can get a big man with our own pick.

Yeah, and Shaq is 330 and only 1-2 inches taller than he is. They say for each inch you gain about 4-7 pounds that would make him from 288-294.

As long as he stays somewhere close to that weight he will be fine. Kemp's problem was that his game relied mostly on his athletcism, so when he gained all that weight and lost all that athleticism he pretty much lost one of the biggest factors of his game.

    Formula for success:

    Rockets' pick - Wallace

    Bucks' pick - Morris

Yes, you read right, 2 SFs in the 1st round.

The Rockets would then have the flexibility to play Wallace at the 2 if needed and, if Morris gets a little bigger and stronger, Morris at the 4 on occasion.

    LINEUPS:

    QUICK BIG HUGE
    Mooch Steve Cat
    Steve Wallace/Langhi Morris
    Shandon Morris/KT Taylor
    Morris Cato Cato
    Cato/Mo? Collier Collier

    STRINGBEAN EXCITABLE
    Mooch Walt
    Shandon Shandon
    Langhi Morris
    Morris Taylor
    Los Cato

    vj,

The difference is, Shaq is a ~30 year old man who built up that weight. Curry is a young kid who is already tipping the scales when he has a higher metabolism and should be lighter frame.

Shaq was not as big when he was in HS or even college.

It is known that Curry's biggest obstacle for making it in the NBA is his lack of work ethic/weight concerns.

Tractor traylor was a college big body whose game relied on power and he dominated - he was a lottery pick based on potential and, so far, he has been a disappointment.

This is my kind of post! good to see some of the posters are in in the right direction.
{Not trying to floss} Honestly, from the beginning, I said the best this team could do with the talent is 9th or 10th looking in. Next year will be shine time with the money room and good draft crop/picks, and added seasoning of our present core, but without digressing, let's enjoy the positives of this year and not dwell on the negatives too much...

If Eddy Curry used to be a gymnast, at least he shouldn't have too much trouble learning big-man footwork.

I was wondering (this question will probably make this thread in the wrong forum; that is, if anyone answers me), but which players would go in next year's lottery?
    In no particular order:
    Curry.
    Woods.
    Haywood.
Er, uh, Chinese center (Zao? Mao? Ying? I've forgotten.
    Chandler.
    Diop (maybe).
    Zach Randolph?
    Wallace.
    Troy Murphy.
    Griffin.
    Battier.
    Tinsley.
    Morris.
    Yarbrough?
    Juan Dixon?
Who'd I miss? Luck would let Morris drop into our laps, maybe Randolph, too (I'm thinking about our picks, both in the 13-16 range, I'd guess). Anyone have any ideas on this?
