But that's exactly my point... its the QB's job to make the reads at the line... and figure out the best possible matchups based on how the defenders are lined up, which way is the safety help coming from, where's the possible blitz, what's the protection package, does he need to change the play altogether, etc., etc., etc. He ultimately determines who the first, second, third options should be based on how the defense is playing and all the other above scenarios. If BOB felt the QB's weren't making the proper reads and as a result were not pushing the ball downfield enough... that's on the QB's, not the play-calling. And some QB's are very much incapable of doing all the above well... and some are great at it, and succeed, despite limited physical tools.
Defense looks good... Would be nice if they had a punt return specialist to take advantage of all those 3 and outs the defense creates.
