I like his game, but it's pretty clear the guy is still far more interested in showmanship than actually winning it all.
Well, the Lakers and Spurs have won the championship 10 out of the last 16 years. 3 of those titles were Kobe/Shaq, but the 2 of the Lakers titles included Pau Gasol who is a PF. And of course, 5 of the Spurs titles included Tim Duncan who is a PF. And if you include the two Miami Heat titles, Lebron was starting at PF. Detroit won in 2004 and Chauncey Billups was probably the best player on the team.
KG was Boston's best player in 2008, Pierce had a great finals though. Although with Duncan and KG, they are/were PFs who anchor their defense (so they supplant centers from a team defense perspective), and Dirk's shooting provides wing like performance and can replace perimeter players for the crunch time duty.
