All too often these types of stories get overshadowed by the bad stuff. Thanks for posting.

Kenny Anderson was my favorite player while at GT and I grew up following the Hoyas and Terps. I loved watching him play.

Kenny and DC where a great duo back in the days. He was my favorite player for a while. He's the reason I wore/wear the #7 on every team I've played for.

    $8500/month in child support!?! OMG!!!!

I (by 'I' I mean my household) don't make anything close to that, and I have a kid. I'd say it's safe to say she's robbing him.

i always remember him as the trio at GT with Dennis Scott and Brian Oliver as Lethal Weapon 3!

I think he was one of the few first freshman players to make such a big impact on his team.... i don't remember anyone before that.

This is crazy b/c the other night I was watch an old Def Comedy Jam, when Martin hosted it, and Kenny Anderson was in the crowd. He was a rookie at the time b/c Martin was clowning on him ("Kenny, you get paid $1.2 mil a year, to play 1.2 mins a game, while you get 1.2 splinters in ya ass sitting on the bench!" - Martin Lawerence).

Good bit on him in this article, though.

I always thought he was a bit overrated, sweet game to watch though, he was really smooth with the ball

this story is really kind of inspiring, I mean you would think losing that much money would depress you into doing nothing but dude is starting life again. pretty cool

Thats a lot, though it looks worse than it actually is.

    $8500 x 12 = 102K a year.
If he was earning $3 mil/year after taxes, Thats 3.4% of his income.
On that same scale if you're making 30K a year, thats $85 a month lol.

But he filed bankruptcy in 2005 just ONE year after he stopped playing.

Safe to say we'll never make that kind of money, so I can't even imagine ways to waste it.

The good thing is he's still trying to do something with himself through education. It doesnt matter if he has 18 kids, completing his coursework for a degree is commendable.
