I live 10 miles from Cowboys Stadium & my wife suggested we rent our house out during Superbowl weekend. Did anyone do this during the Superbowl in Houston or know anyone that did this? Its a bit scary to think that complete strangers would be in our house for 2-3 days, so I've got some definite concerns about it.

Yea, I don't think I could get with that unless they were family.

How much do you think you can make? It doesn't sound so strange of an idea, especially since there'll be so many attendees and the Super Bowl is weekend long affair.

I wouldn't think this is the greatest of ideas. If you're determined to do it then you better make damn sure you get deposits, do background checks and put a lot of your stuff into storage and/or hide it.

I'm sure most people consider this a step down from a hotel. So if a hotel is charging $200 per night (I have no idea, just threw out a number), you better be charging less. You should also be ready to have the complimentary breakfast waiting for them, as well as fresh towels and sheets.

For the trouble and, based on my estimate, what you would be getting....I would definitely pass.

I would think you are a little late for doing this. If you had advertised early for corporate entertaining housing, maybe. But now, I mean, who wouldn't have a place by now. I'll tell you who: people who are unorganized, desperate and winging it. That said, you could probably get top dollar now.

Crazy talk. It's not worth the risk, IMO.

It would definitely be at least $1500 or more for the weekend & I would take a deposit ($1000) first plus they'd have to pay in advance.

Would you have time to do a proper background check? I wouldn't feel comfortable with random people in my house.
