[Radio] 93.7 The Arrow ending 20-year run with format flip

Wtf. That sucks. So is 106.9/107.5 the only classic rock station now?

 

Nooo, how am I supposed to listen to Little Steven's Underground Garage now? Online? Oh yeah, it's online, but like a week or 2 later.

I was wondering what the hell was going on a few minutes ago. On my drive back to the office I heard Journey, Outkast, The Beatles and another classic rap song all back to back. Then finally at noon they introduced the new format.

Not happy about this guess it's another station that will play all Drake and Beyonce songs.

 

BTW, can we just get station like BBC Radio 1 that just plays everything?

 

That was BS. I still miss that station. And now this. 93.7 was #1 on my preset stations. Mother****ers.

 

Disgusting.... Houston doesn't need another "urban" station.

I still dont get the 106.9 / 107.5 double station. The Point was actually a good station

 

if we had a classic hip hop station, where only stuff from the late 80s and 90s get air play, i'd be down. what is this new station supposed to bring? the same 6 songs every hour instead of the same 5?

they killed the 80s station then they replaced glorious spanish rock station with reggaeton infidels. get off my lawn!

 

106.9 The Zone was also good

Lol, there was only one before... And that one station also happens to have the second most listeners out of all other stations in city. Granted I'm not one of them, but there's definetly a market. Sucks for people who liked 93.7's old format though.

I'll give the new station a listen on the pass by, but overall I'm pretty meh. As long as they keep simulcasting 790 AM on 93.7 HD2 I won't have any complaints.

 

One word for you. FM transmitter.

My Sirius subscription went out. I turned on fm radio for like 10 minutes then plugged in my phone and had an Adam Carolla podcast marathon.

 

Those FM transmitters suck. The FM band in Houston is so choked with actual stations that you'll never get a clean signal. Avoid.

The Arrow never changed their playlist in the 20 years I've been in Houston. Awful ****ing station. You can get the exact same experience with way less commercials by doing a Pandora station based on "Don't Stop Believin'." I'm sure the new "urban" station will also be total garbage, but that's radio for you these days.

 

Free Radio has been garbage for years.
