https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/kmart-workers-believe-stores-going-162400821.html About time, I guess. Both KMart and Sears have been in the toilet for quite sometime.
Comedians everywhere are losing some material here. I saw Louie CK a couple weeks ago. "Target is like Kmart if Kmart gave a ****."
This would be impressive client research from a fund manager, but need more than Business Insider via Yahoo to take the bankruptcy charge seriously. I've spent too much time in smaller towns and regions to believe K-Mart or Dairy Queen are going anywhere. I'm not sure what the named and quoted employees expect to happen to them.
funny how the show pictures to support employee's fears, looks like a normal day at Walmart to me......
I hope Sears lasts for a while. It's the only place I know of to buy replacement water filters for my Kenmore fridge.
I've never looked at Sears' financials, so I may be talking out of my butt: I feel like they should just focus on appliances, tools, and service (tires, etc.). Get out of the malls and the clothing and focus on smaller stores. I say this and they may be making 70% of their profits on clothes.
One of my uncle's first jobs was at a Kmart in Alvin well over 20 years ago, even then I knew that place was a freakin dump.
Can't remember the last KMart seen in a major city. I figured they'd already closed all of them down.
There's a small Sears store in Marble Falls that does exactly that and they are great. I can replace my craftsman tools for free whenever, they have all the parts I need on-hand for whenever one of their appliances or something goes on the fritz. From what I could tell by their map, the only Kmarts in Texas are in medium-sized cities (Killeen, Abilene, Brownsville, Odessa, etc...) where there's already a Walmart or two (and probably 6 dollar stores), so there's no hope for them.
