anyone have an invite to teh connection they could spare to a cf'er? if not can anyone recommend a good site to get backups of my blu-rays? worried that they'll get damaged since my friends are always borrowing them
personally i do not stream HD content because of the size i usually hook a external hd up to my ps3 or xbox to view
so you mean that you play the file from your playstation/xbox and the normal hdmi cable from your ps3/xbox then just plays it on the screen? sorry im really new to that.
So how would I go about playing a movie I download on one PC in my network onto my PS3...? Do I turn on a Media Server? Windows Media sharing? Help a brother out... Hispanic?
Yes. You can use something like NERO HOME, or Windows Media player. Or even just share the location of the files (or the individual files) via my computer.
My PS3 finds the files, but when it tries to play them (and I've only tried with MPEG-2 files), it says "Data corrupted". Also, what extension or method do you dudes use for watching streaming blu-rays? Are they a specific file type? EDIT: I found this here link http://forum.videohelp.com/topic348239.html but it seems I need to RIP IT first... what about just "downloading" them or... getting the file YoYo will "share" with me ? What format must that be in?
The ones I generally get are encoded with x264 and are MKV files. I have no idea if it meshes with a PS3 though, as I've never tried.
Mine works with Windows Media Player.... I don't know what I did to make it work, but I was having similar issues about 3 years ago when I first got my PS3... I couldn't get movies to load off of my computer. I know right now though, it just runs from Windows Media Player. I've tried TVersity, I've had some luck but again with some issues with that too. Might be a firewall issue possibly, I don't know for sure.
ps3 will read vob or mt2s or something files it doesnt read mkv just yet (seriously whats the hold up sony?) i get that data corrupting thing too which is weird cuz my roommate has a ps3 and his will play the same file just fine...not sure if it makes the difference he has the 60gig version and I have the 40 gig. I think I may not have gotten an update properly as I remember I was downloading an update once and the internet died I was gonna go back to the default factory settings and re-update everything from the beginning. I know it'll erase everyone on the ps3 but I never play games on it so nothing to worry about there
