What was the promise exactly? Did he promise that it would happen or did he promise that he would try to make it happen?

If he promised it would happen, then he lied knowing full well that even as President he wouldn't be able to accomplish it without other people's support.

If he promised he would try, then it looks like he tried and you can't ask for much more.

It's more complicated than that. If an immigrant has no education, they will be limited to low wage labor, yet pull from our government far more aid from social programs than they will ever put back in taxes.

Neocons are OK with this, because they want to bankrupt those programs, and then eliminate them, yet Democrats are so enthralled by millions of new ethnic voters, they ignore the very real consequences of our nation having more people than we can adequately care for.

Neither party is explaining how we're going to pay for the hundreds of thousands of poor immigrants we continue to absorb every single year.

Since you have no clue what the original quote was said, I'll provide it for you.

The premise behind his statement is that somewhere along the way, you received some sort of help. Exactly how is that different than what I said?
